First time adjusting the valve clearances on the Hillman Superminx. Will it improve performance?

This is how I adjusted the valve clearances on the Hillman Superminx. I am hoping it improves the engine performance.

Youre on to it Paul set them on the back of the cam hot, it did sound as if it had tappet rattle, the hand crank is ideal for doing this, it should be able to cruise at the UK motorway speed limit just dont get caught,

Yeah it definitely has a different feel now driving it, it sounds a bit throatier when you open the throttle. Just need to give it agood run now.
