I literally hold the mug as if it’s floating on my fingertips. I do it very carefully

Why don't you leave the red plastic cup in the wet clay mug while you roll the scalloped bottom?? Wouldn't it help to keep the mug stable?

tricialee5 if it was more dry, yes. I had to make sure I wasn’t deforming the bottom joint or warping the mug due to it not being stiff enough. I hope that makes sense in words. 😆
