This kart has a 6.5 from Harbor Freight. They do not carry these any more but they do have the 212cc and they would be the same type of thing.

It's been ages since I've rode a go-cart. I bet he sure had fun, especially with the circles. I like the LED upgrade. My dad is pretty handy with mechanical and electrical things as well. Keep being a great dad. Bless you.

Cody you are one fine young man and your dad is brilliant as well, Hope you both have many many years of fun together.
Cody, You've got a great dad!!! Give him a big hug every day for building you the cool carts!!!!
Full face helmet could play a big part in keeping dental expenses down. I visualize teeth smacking into the steering .

hey dad, helmet great job though
Cody, you did a great job driving a very cool vehicle. My dad built me a go-kart in 1968 from angle iron and old lawn mover parts. It had no brakes and no throttle control. You would start the engine and then engage drive by moving a handle that snugged up a belt. It was difficult for this 7 year old to operate. :-) I managed to drive it around the house 3 times and then stop it by hitting the inside garage wall. :-) That was the end of go-karts for a long time.
Right on my son would be in his glory if he had one of those he loves to operate machines like quads and skidoo but he does not have his own toy. I know the feeling you have when your kids are so happy doing things like this makes life so worth it for dads and the kids never forget it.
liked the video but why is he not wearing a helmet or glasses
Your one cool father! Just have one question? How do you get him off of it? Lmao

***** yeah, I was like he probably only put a few drops of fuel in there.. Reminds me of reading about Russian MiGs having tiny fuel tanks, 15 minutes worth, so they couldn't run away with the planes.
Cody, what a wonderful dad you have!! I like when your father giggling, that's make me feel more funnnnnnn
Me and my 8 year son are sitting here watching the the video and we are jealous, look like you are having fun!! now i got to go build one!! Damn you dad!! Cody you are a awesome kid have fun!!
Very cool contraption but put a helmet on your little son. Its not something you want to regret later...
Cody needs a helmet.
You, Sir, have the perfect backyard! It's where ideas and dreams come alive, example being the go-kart you built. One day I hope to have a setup like yours; Garage to do some tinkering and building, other assorted outbuildings for storing the things to tinker with, and just space to live. Cheers.
I was so proud when I did it with my son, didn't get video it but its still in my head. Was awesome when your son naturally corrected out of the power slide like it was nothing. Congrats stay cool.
Now your percentage of women viewers dropped
It's nice to see you're teaching your kids about safety.
Cody was loving that a lot and I'm guessing he didn't want to stop....Cody u keep it up & continue helping ur dad out.
I've been watching your videos for a while now. Today was the one that made me finally subscribe. Way to go Cody! You're going to be a awesome race car driver.
You made Cody one happy kid, you're a great dad
Great job cody that is a huge fast machine. my son just got his first go kart and loves it. You to would have the best time wrecking that yard.....
*Says "Cody be safe." Cody: Floors it
That is awesome! Just to see his smile get bigger and bigger as he gained confidence and started really hitting the throttle! Nice build, seems to have very responsive steering and a good amount of torque also!
I do not know your background, but I have learned so much from your videos. One of the best shade tree guys I have seen.

Cody was tearin' it up out there! Looks like he's got an awesome Dad :)
Reminds me of the go cart I built with my Dad! It was a lot of fun....you have a really good dad!
Good job. Cody. Give dad, a great hug or his love to you seems endless. Pop these are the special memories.
Sweet job dude, he digs it big time. Your proud father giggling is so heartening to watch. Love it
Cody is a phenomenal driver for his age, better than most on the road these days. Good dad by the way.
Videos like this make me really look forward to being a dad
great memories Cody will always have! good dad, fun dad! sure, cody will have a few bumps and scrapes but that's just part of it.
Props to cody hes REALLY getting the hang of it,i was actually surprised how confortable he got after jsut riding it a little
What a proud father!!!...this video warms my heart.
Gotta love how he has concern for other peoples cars but not his childs skull. And he even tells him "you could crash" so he knows that it is possible.
Good on ya for spending time with your son and building the go kart it sounds like your happy to see your son happy. But please put a helmet on him because we don't want to hear any bad news.
Love the relationship between a Father and a Son..
They both were having fun, that's what I liked the most. Cool...
Awesome job Cody man!!!
this is good parenting. I especially like when you didn't help him at 5:14, but rather let him figure his own way out of the little mess he got himself into.
Wicked driving, Cody!! Just be sure to be safe when you are driving it and remember what T-Man tells ya!
Cody did a really good job driving it and I like the L.E.D lights on it very creative
Awesome video dude. Next thing you know he'll be helping dad in the workshop and building his own. Good stuff
You are a king at drifting, Cody. Keep it up!!😃😃
That's so cool man my dad was a pos but the one good thing I remember is him getting me a totally ghetto go kart with a hand brake and three tread tires with one slick that hardly ran but man when it did those were the best memories of me and him that I have from childhood so kudos to you and your boy he will really remember these times
Awesome video! lol @ cody, looks like he was having a blast! It'l be neat to see what you come up with for his go cart
Hats off to you and Cody. Genius Dad and Daring Son. Neat video.
I think the old man has more fun watching than the boy does driving LOL Great job.
Cody my man! peddle that gas like a pro! I was raised on home built karts dude, from briggs to vw's. Grand dad and plenty of uncles...all welders man. Roll-Tide and roll on Cody...My man.
man I could hear your excitement in seeing your son enjoying something you made!! That's awesome!! yea....he'll be doing wheelies down the highway before you know it!! (I hope not)...Just keep him under ya wing!!
The kid is really smart
Cody rides it like a beast
The fab work on that thing looks scary as hell

By scary do you mean holy crap, I am surprised it didn't fall apart as soon as the kid hit the throttle? Or did you have some other meaning?
Looks like Cody is having big fun! Be safe.
You remjnd me a lot of my father i garentee you he will have a heck of a child hood. Cool cart he has there. Most feel good to see your child having good time and a grown ups toy. Lol cant wait to do the same to my kids. Cody your one lucky kid keep it up little man
Cody, for the love of god never take your father for granted. In the world we live in today coming across a guy like your dad is pretty rare. Play safe! BTW, I liked and subbed. :D
Nice job Cody. Tell dad to get you a 4 or 5 point hardness and a helmet with a wind screen. All in fun, But SAFETY first. Hope to see you on the track one. Good Luck little guy.
My dad took me fishing, when he could have done this!! VERY VERY COOL FOR A KID.

Cody it look like you had lots of fun driving it having your dad build it for you thats nice
ive gotta do something like this for my niece and my cousins when they get a bit older
Awesome driving Cody! Tell your dad real men wear helmets, you are one special boy and we don't want nothing bad to happen to you and we want to keep seeing your videos.
I love seeing kids have fun like this :-)
Awesome riding Cody! Loved your donuts
Awesome donuts Cody!! I think you might have one of the coolest dad's on the planet. Keep up the good driving kid...and I'm sure I'll see you racing trophy trucks in about 10 years:)
That smile says it all! Awesome man!
u sir are every kids dream father!!!
He had a blast on that, way to go little dude.
AWESOME DRIVING LITTLE DUDE! KEEP THAT UP YOU'LL BE RUNNING CIRCLES AROUND OTHER DRIVERS.
he's pretty good with that, nice job on the cart!
Kick ass Cody.......not many kids get the opportunity to play with sweet toys like that and not many kids your age have SKILLS like that. Reminds me of 199 lives and seeing Travis Pastrana driving a bobcat. Official new subscriber. :-)
Amazing how kids learn fast to use scaled engines ;) Great job !
Great Job!!! Love it!
My dad was an accountant and tax guru....so needless to say my childhood was like a paint drying seminar compared to this kid's. Even in my early 40's, I'm jealous....lol.
Good to see you're not over protective, and let your kid learn by himself! My first swimming lesson was my uncle chucking me into the 12 foot deep end. First day after training wheels was behind a condemed school yard, cover in broken glass, Pops said, " You see all that glass? You dont want to fall!!" First motorcycle lesson was 1 down 5 up on a old Elsinore two stroke. First driving lesson was on pops lap, in a 69 Charger with straight pipes and cherry bomb glass packs.
Cody, I'm glad you got to share with your dad and us the fun in the go-kart that he built. You have a dad to be admired and respected. Dad, it's kinda cool to see a kid just playing and having a blast without a care in the world. That's how we played when I was a kid. I have the scars to prove it. Would you consider having Cody wear some head gear? Maybe add a seatbelt and a roll bar, like on a Shelby Cobra, to add some protection for him and the engine area? Darn! I sound like my dad now, telling everyone to be safe (I don't think it bothered him if we got hurt, that's what kids do. I think he just hated the inconvenience of taking us to the hospital, lol!) Now go play! "Stay thirsty, my friend." - The world's most interesting man
Cody, You were driving great buddy! Keep up the good work and make sure your dad gives you that black Jeep Cherokee when you turn 16!
