Don't understand why normal tea and coffee ( 30 and 70 ,) are so costly. In chennai, for the standard shop shown in this video, tea is Rs 10, and coffee is Rs 15. Good quality tea and coffee are 15 and 20 only. Even a southern indian has to sell his property to visit Amritsar.😂😂😂

40:45 It was I think on MahaShivratri occasion (God Shiva & Goddess parvati special festival day) & i guess they organized little "Shiv charcha" (like ceremony of singing, worshiping, praising, storytelling of lord Shiva by inviting ppl/team specially dedicated for doing that) locally at their home/place and it was Bhandara (just like Langar in sikhs) or God's Prasad/food offering organized afterwards of "halwa puri chanaa" that meant to be sharing with/offered to just everyone including any street passerby.

The price of indian food in restaurants, in the London is a rip off. Homecooked is the best, and i always cook home unless its a celebration of some sort and we go out and eat obviously. Nice vlog, they just love to load on the ghee or butter with salt 😅

Black salt is a strange sulfur flavor that I hated when I first visited India, now I love to drink seltzer water with black salt on the side so yum and refreshing. the teste will grow on you. UP is North india While Bihar is eastern indian state, food, linguistic, cultural, traditions wise quite different than UP (probably just west bihar aka bhojpur region share similarities with east Up') as bihar is way more than just bhojpur region, It has magadh aka south bihar, mithilanchal aka North bihar, angapradesh aka east bihar which share more similarities with nepal in north & jharkhand, bengal, orrisa, assam in south and east parts of it

Oh my days lad, after watching the last two vids of you both with explosive guts then seeing this one eating a radish dish that you described as smelling lke sewerege, you'll be needing more than a change of under crackers 🤣 Keep up the good work, great to see your travels.

You know the encounter you have with the rickshaw driver was probably just due to language. He is an old man in his 60s or 70s and didn't understand where you wanted to go in the first place. People in that age mostly understand what they're used to hearing their whole lives. So if you wanted to go to Golden temple, the ideal way to tell it to this particular man, would be "Swarn Mandir" in the local accent. That's btw the Hindi name for Golden Temple. On top of that, if he decides to con you and take the wrong route despite knowing fully well where you want to go, you should have someone with you who can order him to go the correct route in his local language. That's how it is sometimes with rickshaw drivers, unfortunately. Your British accent can be tricky for local people, especially old ones.

It was just funny that he wanted double the money for taking us further away than we started aha! I've gotta be honest in Amritsar 90 percent of drivers quoted us fair prices which we were very impressed with. Nowhere else in India that has happened so far so we respect the local here 🙏

I thought Pakistani beeping was bad, but the Indian beeping is next level. Good quality horns just going off for longer 🤣 -- glad to see you're enjoying your time in India. Amritsar and Lahore used to be sister cities. Lahore was the capital of the Sikh empire in the 1800's. Ethnically Lahoris and Amritsaris are same people ie; Punjabi. Indian restaurants and shops look so much cleaner. Have a good time! I hope the Pakistani bugs get out of your system soon.

Think you need to be selective with your food as hygiene in all of Asia is questionable. You have probably been lucky in other countries but got burnt in Pakistan although Pakistani food is generally of a better standard. I know you are on budget but would suggest try and avoid street foods and only eat quality stuff few and far in between ❤. God bless you both

Come on to say we have just been 'lucky' for nearly 3 years is daft. The quality in Pakistan is the lowest we have seen worldwide and needs to be improved! Food tastes very good though 🙏

Nice video Ellis. Juat one thing, people esp Hindus and Sikhs dont eat non veg before going to any religious space. If you do eat and post in here, you may get some hatred from so called religious pundits😂. Loves!!!
