First Ride with the new Brakes! | TRP DH-R EVO | Santiago Oaks

Спорт

After a year with the SRAM Code RSCs, I decided to upgrade them to the TRP DH-R Evo's in Matte Black. After this initial ride, I noticed less hand fatigue. This could be because the TRPs are so easy to initiate. They require little force to engage. I was also able to let off the brakes more because I knew I was able to stop right away. After some more rides with these brakes, I will give another review/update with them. So far I am happy with these!

So how's TRPs so far? I've been seriouly contemplating swapping my srams out for these but looking around for some real-world opinions.

Definitely, if you can I would swap them out! The thing I noticed about the TRP’s is that they have a strong bite at the beginning of the trail all the way down to the end. They never loose power or have brake fade. I haven’t tried Hayes or Magura but I’ve heard similar things about them too. I would pair the TRP’s with their rotors. I noticed the SRAM rotors are a bit noisy.

I have 2 dhr evo on my bikes. They’re awesome but brake noise always come back after few rides. Try to clean rotors with brake cleaner

I will try that! I was thinking it might be the Rotors. Which ones do you have? I have the SRAM HS2 rotors with the stock TRP pads that it came with.

Yeah try sanding and cleaning those rotors, and sanding those pads…prob all glazed up from whatever contaminant was on the rotors. Those brakes are dope btw

@@Bikeologist_mtb What sand grit would you recommend to sand them with? I’ll try that out!

@@Oscar_Hdz I usually just use 220, place the pads flat on top of the paper and go in a figure 8 pattern until all the shiny glaze is removed. On the rotor it’s more to clean and remove residue from the previous pad set, and gives the new pads something fresh to bed into. Hit everything with brake cleaner afterwards
