    I ran into a guy with one of these while I was on my 49cc moped. We went for a quick ride then he let me try it out. The thing has crazy torque! I weigh 223 and it had no trouble rocketing up to the speed limit... And then some. A bit overpriced for my budget and the reliability of a 4 stroke is where I'm at.

    @@jacobsutton3815 You should get an E-Bike Conversion kit. Look for one with a 48v 1500W controller and motor. You'll also need to get a battery, preferably a 48V 1500w Li-ion battery or better (battery, controller, and motor should be the same volts). You can go for a 36V set up (which is cheaper), but your top speed, acceleration, and battery life will be lower. Once you have that, just look up E-Bike Conversion kit and you'll find a bunch of videos on the assembly, plus your assembly kit will probably have its own instructions.

    Dude I am tripping out. I seen this bike several times owned by a gal who goes to the same gym I do. She would park it by the front window so it could be seen and lock it to a tree. I told her I liked her electric bike and asked some questions about it. She said she was one of the investors in the company when they were building it up; and that she got the bike at cost etc' just assumed it was another mom & pop electric bike in the vain of the Super 73 & the Rose Ave' Etc' I wrote her off as an air head when I asked her "so whats the top speed?" And she said "60" I figured right then she has no idea what she was talking about and now here I am seeing this for the first time! Now I want one!!!! lol.

    Great video, thanks for being thorough and upfront about the range limitations! I think onyx nearly nailed it with the RCR - finally some decent power to make it an actual personal transportation vehicle that can safely keep up with traffic. I'll probably try the QS motor on my next build bc of this bike. My biggest concern about the cool retro cafe racer frame style is the 'bikeability'. They need to design a way to adjust the seat for proper rider geometry. Or maybe consider removing the pedals? Pegs would be more comfortable but you'd lose the active transport / human assist side of it. The scooter wheels and tires are a great idea too, much more rugged and puncture resistant than a fatbike setup.

  • @eBikeaholic

    @eBikeaholic

    4 жыл бұрын

    @Martyr4JesusTheChrist yeah I'm not worried about the definition of moped, my point about the frame is that it's geometry is obviously not designed to be comfortably pedaled for medium to long distances. This will cause mulitple issues over time; lower back, knee, hip, shoulder and neck pain. They should either make the seat height adjustable like the new Rad power bike or just ditch the cranks and make an e-moto or whatever you want to call it. Also the main reason they added little cranks to classic mopeds was bc they were unreliable and underpowered. They were there only to start the motor, help climb a steep hill or as backup if the motor fails. These should be a non issue for the QS motor.

  • @specialized29er86

    In Australia it rated as a electric motorcycle and for riding on the streets registration and insurance would be a must. Electric bicycles would need to be pedaled to gain the power and not accessing the power by a flick of the switch. Love the RCR model.

An alternative is simply to move, I mean Elon Musk is moving TESLA out of CA simply because of how officials are running businesses out of CA. Many people live in certain states because of taxes alone & it’s a non brainer for a business of this caliber.

I've calibrated and compared it with tachometer (physical data) and GPS to validate my results. In order to achieve the top speed on this is like getting to the top speed on a Bugatti. The biggest issue is its a grey area ebike or moped. Its a class 2 ebike in eco. It can pass for a moped in normal but sport is motorcycle status. Thats fine with me I test rode it and normal is PLENTY for me, sport was crazy. Biggest issue is legality, it lacks turn signals, mirrors and other parts to register it as a moped such as a vin number. Right now its underground so most people dont know about it but if it ever becomes mainstream I can easily see karens lobbying to ban these. Especially since Ive seen all the videos of people blowing past stop signs on 40 mph.

    @Pilot Omaha It's simple, just start your own business, lease some property, hire some employees, buy the parts, have your employees assembled it, buy some advertising, pay all the legal fees and before you know it, you have to sell it for $4,000 just to make any kind of profit. This should be common sense. If you have the time, knowledge and mechanical ability to assemble all the parts and build it yourself, of course you can do it cheaper. Why do you think so many people are building their own electric bikes and motorcycles? Because it's way cheaper. This is called cutting out the middleman.
