Hey man, thanks for the comment! I feel that the bike as it comes, 160/160mm travel is just perfect. I ended up changing out the air spring in the fork to 170mm and didn't really like the result. The bike became a bit too slack for me and I intend to change the travel back to 160mm. The bottom bracket isn't too low at all. I run the flip chip in the "high" position and haven't had any BB strikes at all. Hope this helps out, if you have any more questions feel free to shoot me a DM on IG. Cheers!

Honesty, the price of the Deore build kit is hard to beat! I'm really partial to the 38 and the X2, but the main reason I went with the XT, is the availability. My advice would be to grab the Deore build, save some cash and upgrade down the line if you feel its necessary.

Glad you enjoyed it! My dropper has a bit of post showing, because the patrol seat tube is just so darn low, only a 120mm dropper can be slammed all the way to the collar. If I were you, at that height I would definitely get the Oneup 180mm dropper because you'll have the option to shim it down to 170 if necessary. If you check out my Instagram, I've got plenty of pics of the bike as it is now with the 150mm dropper.
