This video is an added bonus to our First Ride 2020 450 Video Series. Check out what Josh Mosiman and the rest of the Motocross Action wrecking crew had to say about the in betweener from KTM. I LOVE mine! got one and sold my RockRiver YZ250f complete racebike that required VP Pro6 at $40/gallon and the KTM has similar power but lighter and thinner and WAY less maintenance. LOVE LOVE LOVE it.

I switched to one of these in 17 from a Honda 450. Way more fun to ride and I'm actually a lot faster on the track with this bike. Seems to be built well as I've got 71 hrs on mine and no problems yet( knock on wood). You do have to dial the forks in a bit and a ktm rides differently then the other brands in the way the bike stance is and how you are on the machine( they are very narrow feeling) so it does take some getting used to. Overall I plan on buying another one in 21.

Just bought one. I bought a Honda crf250, and was very disappointed. Nice bike but not oooomph to it. This 350 has all I need and more. I’m hooked. Gave the Honda to my girlfriend

Would be cool if the motor classes were 150, 250 (4t or 2t) 350, 450 (open). Make it similar to boxing/ufc weight classes= more champions and more interesting competition. Also more organic moving up from young riders. Won’t happen but it’d be neat

2 things I don’t like are the air forks and KTM being stuck in 2011 with the white back fender.

Alexandra Kingi I keep wondering why I hear about the big hit on a 450. My 450 just pulls steady and I guess it is because I have a basically stock 2012 RMZ 450. Maybe if I got a chance to drive a new 450 I would understand. Or maybe it feels normal because I have a 1000cc street bike, it will rip me off the back if I am not fully focused when I get on it.

I have ridden a 2012 350sxf I liked it better than the 2017. 2017 felt more like a 450, than the 12 which felt like a powerful 250. I haven’t liked the direction this bike has been going towards with adding more power

Is the 350 or an 250(2stroke) more exhausting to ride? And which is faster

  • @jdc9128

Having owned both a 16 250sx and a 17 350 sxf the 250 2 stroke was a more exhausting bike to ride, but also was the most fun, I loved practicing on the 2 stroke but preferred racing the 350, I raced the 250 for a season and twice that year I got so exhausted I just whiskey throttled of the back of the thing, but I'm just a weekend warrior if your super fit and ride smooth you will be fine.

Depends on your skills. Two strokes in general you have to be in the good spot in the powerband but honestly the light weight feeling and the sound beats any fourstroke! But for a regular guy the 350 sxf should be more rider friendly.

Torosus Horneri thank you! So im not superfit and so i think my next bike will be a 350(actually i ride an 250 smoker) but im riding only for 1 year now

@@MS215_ go ahead and get the 250sx. It has plenty of grunt so you dont need to ride it in the power band, plus you can also change the power valve springs in the bike and make it smooth as butter. Much cheaper in maintenance, easier to sell and way more fun to ride. Also runs coolers, and lighter. 350 is a great bike but if your on the fence between the 2, get the 250sx, you wont regret it. (Also, if you ever want more power, you can install the 300sxs kit and have a full blown rocket ship)

The dyno figures are at the wheel but the 350 makes 50 hp at 13k vs 450 makes 54hp at 9k. HP = torque x RPM ÷ 5250.

Not in the 450 class. The honda is power King. The only bike that actually cracks 60 plus horse power while the ktm and yamaha etc are around the 57 hp. It's really impressive power that the honda has! It sure does bark!
