I will say this is the early access version and it definitely gets the further into the world levels as you progress. The Dev team is great at Quell and are working on the full launch. The game is a hell of a lot of fun once you get the mechanics down and the resistance bands add a lot to the workout. I’m burning about 300cal on a 20-25 min session.

Just got mine today. On the first robot, after a short period of time I can't cause any more damage and the robot just stands there. Not sure if it's me or sometime else is going on.

I think the first play though is mostly a tutorial, it asks for different punches/movements. It took me a long time to get through it. The second time I just got murdered a lot because the difficulty went up lol!

Watching this as a gaming nerd its very hard to tell where your delay is coming from. The M1 chip in a mac is crazy but I get the impression its struggling here. I'd be curious to see how the game does on a dedicated gaming machine with better than recommended hardware

Yea, I wish I had the funds to upgrade but the shown delay really doesn't effect the gameplay. also, this is also right after the pre-release version launched and their has been a few patches since then.

Delay in th punching gotten better?

I may have just gotten used to any delay as I don’t notice it at all in my play throughs, now at the higher levels. You can check out some of my later videos but I think a large portion of the issues was learning how the punches are tracked when you throw them.

Will you get bored after 1 month playing punching same different monsters and running? Are there any rewards and achievements in this game to showcase to your friends? Are there unlockable items or gear that u can upgrade?

Great question! So far about 2 months in and I’m still going strong. Keep in mind that I’m only playing the pre-release version so I don’t even have full access to all of the enemies, biomes or equipment. The main achievements is your performance rating and rage score right now but you do get equipment at the end of each level depending on your performance. I’ve mentioned in some of my reviews that this needs a little bit of work. I do know the Quell team has taken some of that feedback and they are working on finessing the final product. The other thing to note is that the Dev team has been very open about their plans. They have many more enemies already designed for the game and different functions that we haven’t even been able to touch yet so I’m pretty excited about what’s coming on down the road. I think for most of the people that have played it, It is pretty fun and addicting even in its current form. I’m not sure if that fully answers your question but so far I’ve enjoyed it after two months and I imagine the full release game is going to have even more things to play around with and many planned updates going forward from there.

So it depends a lot on what you’re looking for. If you just want a gaming system then the switch will be infinitely more versatile. This is really a system designed for fitness and currently only has one game available (Shardfall) with more being developed. I bought this specifically as a home gym option that happens to be a video game and it sounded awesome. I would probably not have backed it if i was looking just for a good gaming system.

I would say it’s better than I expected keeping in mind. I am typically more of an optimist. There are a few bugs and quirks as we are currently using the beta until the next big patch release and the game does have a learning curve, but I’m getting a great workout on a daily basis. I look forward to my workouts. I’m having fun and, it doesn’t feel like I’m going to the gym/dread the workout. If you’re looking for something the gamify fitness I think this does it better than anything else I’ve seen. It’s a blast to play and you end up dripping sweat every time so for me 9 out of 10. It’s exactly what I wanted the product to do.
