That they thought that this is their last comeback. If this doesn't go well, they will disband. Luckily, they got their first win in this song and they sold more albums than they expected. So they continued

"I Need U is a special song to me, and I also wrote the intro to hyyh p1. I don't really know why but I considered that song to be the end, the last light. You may think the reason was because we weren't doing well before then but that wasn't actually true, if you looked at the numbers, it wasn't as bad as we thought it was, we just had really high expectations. That's what we thought at the time, that this could be the last. That's why it was like we went all-in and gave it everything we had. I can still remember the emotions I felt back then clearly. The first show we performed INU on was mcountdwn and i still remember what outfits we wore. We recorded even without an audience. We had shorts and I was the only one in a navy outfit. I felt an emotion I never felt before on that stage. I wondered, why does it feel so sad singing this song? Back in this video since I watched ILAND Ep 8 yesterday when Bang PD said this is the turning point of BTS and that the producers and even Son Seundeok cried so much at this era. As an old ARMY who got to experience this era made me realize how far BTS has come. I can remember that I prayed so hard that BTS should win for the first time! And my god! You can’t believe that they won the day before my birthday. I was doing a laundry and imagine my crying whilst I was scrubbing my clothes! 😭 Anyways, I am so proud BTS are now successful.

Same...their movements are so powerful but their expressions made my heart ache so bad. Also, Jin's facial expression in that bridge part while he was kneeling made me want to cry 😢

Finally! The cameraman showing the actual choreography up front rather than at the sides and angle. I can appreciate BTS talent in dancing now that I realize how talented they are to perform such skills that include difficult dance moves and singing at the same time! Now I know why they’re such a big deal.

New army. I came here to watch this I need U performance after fully understood how important this song is to BTS and Army, the significance of this turning point. Not an understatement at all to say i'll be an Army forever, BTS is just different in what they bring to the table.

I really don't know where to start. I freaking love this comeback! First how Suga is like the visual for this comeback, how his outfit stands out the most. Then how this song perfectly fits Jin's voice. Other songs were okay, but this one makes his singing better. The trio best dancer, dang you dance so good I thought I was watching dancing9. It amazes me how the choreographer did the dance. So good! As for Jungkook and Jimin, they're BTS. They'll sing better tomorrow. I'm not even worried :) Come on guys! Win no 1!

In most recent Stay Gold cb interview, Yoongi said at the time they thought this song could be the end, their “last light”. They pre-recorded even without an audience, went all in and gave everything they had. Jimin’s expression in 2:50...... alright I’m gonna stop here and go back to crying in my corner now.

Not gonna lie, the live stage just made up for any of the slight hesitation/uncertainty i had with the MV that they released. Dance is still on freaking point, Jin got to finally shine and sing the kind of shows he's good at, they realy don't disappoint, you can really tell they worked hard and i can't wait for more performances ahhhhhhhh

I'm a Carat and I heard of Wonwoo day, but Suga day? (I rlly like Seventeen, but didn't follow them for a while..I will start following them again with their new comeback!!:D)

HYYH pt.1 was my first ever BTS cb as an ARMY. I remember how excited i was back then. I NEED U always be my favorite song. Here i am, now, still with Tannies and feel extremely proud of them for their achievements. They are so precious for me. I love them so much and want to thank them for being by my side this long, for help me through my own Hwa Yang Yeon Hwa 💜

I don't know why but i find this song way more emotional then any of their previous songs, it's so nice and they have mastered the emotional and sensative facial expressions, they're all such good actors haha and i absolutely LOVE the chorus in this song and the choreo is so on point! BTS never dissapoint, and i am so sad i can't go to their concert when they come to Australia...
