He did not physically drop her, nor did she try to physically pull him with her. That's a metaphor for how she's emotionally drowning. No matter what you try to do, some people are emotionally lost. Her falling is drowning in her own despair and depression. The line, "save me from the nothing I've become." Is a fitting metaphor

I love watching these reactions as people discover other music. Too many people think the music of now is the best all and end all. Humanity has been around for hundreds, hundreds, hundreds of years and music has been part of it. One thing I always think of is people’s reaction to opera. Opera began as the music of the common people and workers. Yes it’s in Italian and such but that is where it started. Some operas are pretty raunchy. And it’s not just music, think of pizza or lobster, they were considered the food of the poor. If you ate lobster you couldn’t afford real food. Things change, humanity is constantly evolving, changing, learning, and it is so nice to see people giving things a chance. Thank you for that

This song came out so long ago, I was a teen, and I can still remember being blown away by this song and by Amy Lees voice and it's really nice to see someone hearing it for the first time and experiencing the same thing.

Amy's vocals is phenomenal. Hahahaha, Everyone says; why does he drop her? The song is about longing, wanting for that connection. Unspoken frustrations and fears, surprising desires we feel we have to go for but afraid to and sometimes we fall. So for me he doesnt let her go, shes wanting to go with him but reluctant which causes her to fall. Hence the back and forth struggle. Thank goodness shes only dreaming. Thanx, Peace

This song rocketed Evanescence into the mainstream because it was on the Ben Affleck “Daredevil” soundtrack. Before that movie this band was mostly a college/bar circuit band from Little Rock Arkansas. Amy Lee has an angels voice..literally!

They are one of my favorite bands from all times although many of the original members are not in it anymore, Amy Lee is such an incredible vocalist, her range is pretty amazing! She's a mezzo-soprano and she can go from very low notes to very high ones in the blink of an eye... She's also a great songwriter and has won awards for that talent... I simply love her ❤

She also wrote her song “Call Me When You’re Sober” about the end of her marriage to Shaun Morgan of the band “Seether”.

You definitely gotta check out Nightwish if you're impressed by Evanescence and Amy Lee. Particularly, I'd check out the “Floor Jansen” Era of Nightwish, which is the current. (bands had three singers, she's the most recent and best imo) I'd recommend the live versions of Ghost Love Score, Amaranth, Nemo or Romanticide from the Wacken 2013 show (Showtime, Storytime album). As far as Evanescence recommendations, you gotta check out The Synthesis Versions of Imaginary, Lacrymosa and Lithium, as well as Hello and Haunted from their respective albums.

They did a concert with a complete orchestra with Amy Lee as guest singer. They did this song as a duet with the band's female lead singer, and she also featured on their song Senbonzakura.
