Can someone explain what's happening here? Is this a collective loft? Why is there so many people expecting the pigeon, and why is there a screen announcing the winner?

Its a one loft race. You breed a young bird and send it off to loft AND EVERYONE ELSE DOES THE SAME. The birds are looked after by a loft manager and trained by him to. All the people are there as this is the final. I t takes a special pigeon to win and are often auctioned off after the final race for big money.

Not true always most winning pigeons are put to stock for future breeding a champion , I’ve kept pigeons for 13 years

Gee let the bird have a feed and rest for christ sake. That bird didnt trap well at all. Way too many people standing around a loft on race day. Just ridiculous really. All credit to the bird.
