Don't forget...stroopewaffels...Foghorn-legghorn...and last but not least ...Storla Station!
My boys are all grown up and moved away, so I snatch up my nephew as much as her mom will allow and we get out of the city. All the boy knows is concrete, asphalt, bus's and subways. I took him to a dairy farm in upstate and spent the day there. The farmer is a dear friend of mine, so he took him on all the tractor work, feedings, manure hauling and spreading, calving, everything but best of all, he never tires of answering the stream of endless questions only an 8 year old can ask. I brought him back to his mother smelling like a farmer, looking like a farmer and a head full of things to ponder. Construction sites, butchers, farms...I want him to know what really makes America run. Can't get all the city out of him, but he's on the right path! When he finally made the connection between the hamburger he had for lunch to the animal that the hamburger came from, you can just tell when it cliques for the first time. That is a magic feeling for me. Connecting the dots, as it were.

When Brian announces the song of the day I ask ALEXA to play it. Thanks for the memories ❤
I'm impressed with the way you keep your barns so clean a lot of farmers don't
Thanks for wrangling all that poo and snow, and keeping those cows comfy. Just so I can buy my beef all nicely packaged at the store! Farmers are awesome!
I'll never forget the first time we got a red calf out of a black cow. All I new about back then was black was the dominant trait. Then I learned about the red factor carrier. That first time though I was bamboozled.
Brian, that song of the day put a smile on my face. Takes me back to the 70's . 8 track player with headphones doing field work. I was probably only 12 at the time. Still smiling.
I love when you do a song of the day. When you say the song all of a sudden a song I have not heard or thought of in years is playing in my head!. Thank you Brian!!
Cole & Brian, Another awesome video. My heart goes out to you for taking care of such a large herd in those winter conditions. I could not image getting a 36" snow storm and having to take care of the herd. The American Farmer, definitely an unappreciated profession. God Bless you.

Cole, Cole, Cole, You left out my favorite part of all your videos the last comment after the video is over. You have to put the Icing on the cake!!!!!
Once upon a time, about 30 years ago.... I was driving headed back to San Antonio from LaVernia on Hwy 87 when all the sudden the radio started playing China Grove just as I drove into China Grove. So there.
Poor Ellie, she was a bit freaked with those 2 claves running behind her! Another great video, Guy's!
Congratulations Reed. Congratulations to everyone who had a beautiful cow named after them. Everyone should be proud to eventually get a chance to have a fantastic steak or burger named after them. God bless our American farmers.
I replayed that section where you were naming the new ‘claves’ several times because it totally cracked me up! How Brian repeated you when you emphasized claves’!! You guys are a joy to watch!!
Brian … you were correct..that Hereford had a bull calf…Super nice baby!!
I thought the little partially-bald-faced calf was adorable. The last time I posted to one of your videos I said I'd show it to my husband so he could appreciate snow. Since then we've decided to move from the deserts of California to the snows of Michigan. Thanks, guys!

Blizzards of 77/78 is one of the reasons I took a transfer from Coast Airstation Traverse City to Airstation Miami in September 79. I'm originally from Mt. Morris Michigan the first farm town north of Flint. Yes, there's a lot of awesomeness about Michigan. As there is every state in America. I myself have always joke about visiting Claifornia after the big one and it becomes the Isle De Califonia. The best place I've ever lived was the ten years I liven on the Florida Keys. I friggen loved every day I lived in the Conch Republic as it's known by locals. Married my Bebita Colombian Wife Maria on the 4th of July 2003. She grew up a city gorl so small town living was a serious change for her. Me,I prefer small town living but here I am in far south Miami-Dade County just above the 18 mile streach to the Keys. Still a beautiful place to live of you like semi-tropical weather. Michigan can grow on you tho if you're not happy were you're coming from.

Thanks for the great video. It was interesting and enjoyable. My compliments to the clean facility you keep for your cows and calves. You both are excellent herdsmen. Not many keep things as clean as you do. Very good Sonne ‘s. Great song of the day Brian. Like the Douby bros. That song is a good one. Thanks for more naming of the calves. Everyone likes that including me. Good going Brian on the names. I hope the storm coming in does not cause you too much problems. You usually are ready for them when they arrive. About it I guess. I am so impressed with the care you both give the cows and calves. My compliments to you both. Take care and be safe. Thanks for everything. The Iowa Farm Boy.
Cole and Brian, you make it look so easy, when I know it takes a lot of effort to be a good herdsman to all those new calves. They look great!!!!!!
It' been a long time . I know caring for a herd of cattle is alot of hard work. Especially calving in the winter. I dont have to tell you but it takes dedication and a love for what you do . That is a fine looking herd you have, very well cared for.
Cole you put a line too much on the heifers ;-) it is not 5 lines plus a crossing, it is 4 plus a crossing :D
Nice work with all the claves. Never did I ever, think I would spend Saturday morning breakfast watching guys move cattleZ 💩 around, and enjoy it ! 😂
So I come in from clearing inches of ice off the sidewalk. What to watch? Sonne Farms it is. Oo ooh China Grove. Thanks for the ear worm.
Y'all do a good job with your care of the new calves. I still don't know how y'all do that cold and snow. God bless
I am impressed that you wear a mask when you spread the lime. You are concerned enough to realize that you want to take care of your lungs. Safety on the farm is not taken for-granted. We enjoy your KZread channel. Blessings. 😊
The weather has been strange this year. I'm from Rochester NY, and we haven't got that much snow. We usually do. Be careful out there. I love your videos ❤
Hope YOU are back in good health BRIAN
Glad to see Cole has mastered the Bobcat “bucket flip”, the only way able to load places that can’t be reached. Love your whiteboard comedy! Each one is a classic! Thx guys- stay safe and warm!
WOOHOO!! A "clave" named Kellie Jo - she'll be a sassy little heifer if she's true to her name!!!! Love it!! What number is she? I'm going to name my next clave "Sonne"...should be any day now...got a few more girls bagging up! 😍😍 May God continue to Bless you and your family!!!
Best metals: Gold, Silver, Participation...haha. I always enjoy the humor. As someone who runs and operates a small hereford cow-calf operation with his dad, I love to see the F1s.
Thanks for the video. Had a ribeye for supper, so keep them claves growing!
Every time I watch you put new bedding in with the shredder/blower I think about carrying straw bales from the front of the barn to the back and hand spreading the bedding. Technology is fantastic.
I love watching your videos and seeing how other people run their Cows

I am so impressed with the housing conditions you create. It is so clean and habitable. A pleasure to watch.
Good song of the day. It's a town southeast of San Antonio. You guys got some good looking calves.
Can’t believe you don’t have a grapple bucket for the skid steer. Makes cleaning bedding out of barns so much easier.

I had to read all the comments to see how many people would tell you about the girl count being off. Kinda disappointed, not that many. Have a great day Sonnes!!
Very nice you take great care your cows calves and bulls. Have a great day.
Friend's Grandpa would tell this story. It was the early 40s. Highway 30 was the only paved road across the U.S. One day a lady from New York City stopped to ask if she could get some dirt for her apartment window planter. Albert said, "Lady, there's 160 acres of it right there. You can take all you want." Then she asked for a tour of the farm. After the tour, she said, "Thank you, but I am sure glad I never have to eat any of your chicken, pork or beef." "Why's that?" Albert asked her. She said, "Oh! The smell!"

My uncle loved to tell the tale of the city kids on a field trip who toured his family's dairy works and the beef farms during calving season. It's a good thing the school and the farm manager anticipated all of the upset stomach's and fainting in the beef calving barn . . . boys mostly for some reason.

From meat on a hoof to steak on my plate thanks to hard working American cattle farmers. You guys gotta be born with air filters in your noses to handle the smell of massive loads of cattle poop. My Aunt Amy had a farm with severl head of cattle and I know exactly how even a medium amount of it smells. It ain't Paris ladies perfume I can tell you that. Your Dad Brian is a hoot. He definitely adds humor to your channels episodes. I definitely look forward to his song of the day. I check them out here on KZread every time. Preferably live performances. Your strong black Angus genes are just too strong!
Great video. Brian I was born 82. Hopefully you can get your cows sold and the price is even higher! Would be nice to see the farmers get their fair share of these high grocery store prices!
Hey guys another good video. Cole you said you are up to 21 heifers, you have 22 marked on the board!
Another great video. Stay warm with that 36” of snow ⛄️
Good video,of course the weather get shitty when calfing

We pigged several sows and two gilts for a good neighbor. We sorted off around twenty that were close and took them home. I Said that the two gilts were way off but the old man was adamant. Both gilts pigged that night. That was quite an eye opener for a 22 year old that thought he knew everything! I’m 73 and still learning.

I’m so glad your giving names to the babies. I named all my favorites. It makes it more personal when you do that. Our granddaughter started naming them after food 😜. Cheesy, Pepper, Peanut Butter, Jelly. I won out on one tho, Blaze because of her white “Blaze” down her face. And her attitude seemed to follow her name as well. I love to watch how much you love your animals. Not all cattlemen do. Keep up the good fight, it will warm up someday. ❤
‘Twas the blizzard of ’23 Brian and Cole stood tall Waiting for the first claves to fall Soon they’d be clavin’ and Ellie’s tail be waggin’ Anticipating the treats Those leftover meats That only a dog could enjoy The jokes would be flyin’ We’d watch cryin’ Our sides are aching The cattle be claving The forecaster calling For thirty six inches deep That’s what she said All too soon spring will be here The Sonne frames angus Sprang out before us Will be mooing their chorus More perlets here! Let us rejoice in the season And remember the reasons Clattle be clavin’ On Sonnes green Haven So we might enjoy A steak and a beer
