The sentiments are the same as a Sunni Muslim would feel. Like the sister said that we should we feel like we’ve lost one of our own. However, I just don’t like how bodily harm is inflicted amongst the Shias. Our body is a sacred gift from Allah swt and we can’t even put a tattoo on it - let alone harm it. However, if there’s a difference of opinion- I would love for someone to share knowledge. Thanks

Regarding tattoos, there is no specific Hadith that states yes or no, rather tattoos are not haram but makroo. For it to be haram it must scar and damage your skin permanently and stop the path of wudhu, but tattoos are ink that is stained under the skins bottom layer

Then I (Aisha) laid his head on a pillow and got up beating my face along with other women". Isnad is sahih Sunni source: Musnad Imam Ahmad hanbal , Volume 18, Hadith 26226, page 199 This hadith is saying that other female Sahabis were also beating themselves in grief of the death of Prophet Muhammad (saw)

When it comes to Ghum e Hussain shias and Sunnis do commemorate it but they may do it in a different way .
