    Man the multi effects and amp modelling has come such a long way. I’ve got it down to the St. Rock and this. Sounds are most important to me, and this GP200LT and the St. Rock are IMO right up there and in some cases better than those costing waaaay more money. St. Rock has some serious preamp options, including ones that you NEVER see… Driftwood… KRANK. Man… decisions decisions.. the GP200LT seems easier to edit and tweak. Thanks for the time and effort for the video.🤘

    For the money it looks good. Player needs vary, so will mileage. I really like the dedicated midi in out. It allows for it to be used remotely without a host. With a fancy controller. The balanced out is SPIFF!.

    Very impressive yet again modern tech basically means dial in what ever you want, go with the presets or build your own sound. Once you have something like this you basically don’t need anything else. Some fantastic sounds throughout and a drum machine as well to give you a beat to play along with which is a lot nicer then just a metronome 👍 result

    One thing that would be great to understand when you do the full review is how guitars and pick ups effect the programmed sound. I have found before with these multi effects pedals that some times the sound you get is the sound and the guitar almost becomes irrelevant and the cheapest or most expensive will sound exactly the same. You tend to do this anyway but would be really interested for this one what the impact is.

    At $280.00 USD what's not to love. Buy one. If you find you are nuts about modeling then leap all the way up to an AXE FX III or a Neural Quad Quartex and skip the wannabes in between.

    From memory I’m pretty sure they are balanced TRS outputs so it’s basically the same as XLR…just get a short TRS to XLR cable, that’s what I do with my HX Stomp and ToneX pedals when I play live…just a short cable to convert the TRS cable to an XLR and then you can plug a standard XLR cable into that! Or just get a long TRS to XLR cable

    Hi mate the NUX MG30 is also an excellent sounding multi fx, great user interface easy to use and the App software is excellent. NUX effects sound excellent due to their TSAC technology, I’ve had a few NUX pedals all built really well, sound fantastic and great prices, slightly more expensive than many of the budget pedal competitors, it’s definitely worth paying that little bit extra for the NUX quality. I’ve not tried the MG400 but I’m sure it will also be great as it’s the newer big brother to the MG300 which is also an excellent sounding unit. You can’t go wrong with NUX. The Valeton GP200LT is a brilliant solidly built, user friendly and excellent sounding multi fx, for its low price it’s just as good as many much more expensive competitors units, if you want the built in expression pedal, a few more foot switches and more outputs and don’t mind spending an extra £60-70 then the GP200 big brother is fantastic and well worth its price. As for Flamma I have a few of their pedals which are all also excellently made, great sounding pedals at low prices. Flamma do multi fx units, the FX100 again great for its price, the FX100 they make for Harley Benton which is the DNA fx Git, and the newer bigger Flamma FX200 has more foot switches & features and good price for what you’re getting, again the supply to Harley Benton as the DNA fx Git PRO, exactly the same Flamma units with the Harley Benton brand logo. All great units for the money, you honestly can’t go wrong with the Valeton, NUX or Flamma multi effects units for there price.

    So, if all you had was an amp to play this through- can you turn off the cab sims and do so? I'm eventually going to buy a set of monitors for my "studio"- for lack of a better term- experiment would probably be more accurate- but right now a tube amp is what I have. It is a more modern tube amp- the Blackstar club 40- emulated output on the rear, built in attenuation, digital reverb, and overdrive- with a parallel fx loop- if that matters.

  • @TSFAHTPS

    @TSFAHTPS

    Yeah you can turn the amp/can sim off and just use it as a multi fx unit - I’ll make sure to include that in the full demo

    Looks like plenty of fun!!! I'm wondering what the differences are between this LT version and the GP 2000 (non LT). This appears to be like a & 'lite edition' or is this an updated version? (I've not done any research 🤔). We are getting to the stage now where these chips are getting that good at such low prices they are almost becoming a no brainer, at the very least for players just getting into things. You can pretty much purchase this for the price of a single 'premium' pedal or even get some change. We talk about how they sound, but typically they are compared to the pedals/amps they try to emulate, when really how they sound is just that, not by way of comparison. They either have useful sounds that a given player desires/can make use of or they don't. It matters little whether the recreations are spot on or have their own sound. I'm really not sure what to think as these units become significantly cheaper and better simultaneously. Will there be a time in the near future when physical pedals are basically a thing of the past? It strikes me that 'we' are going through a war akin to CD vs vinyl. CD took the honours with the almost full demise of the vinyl LP for decades, only to see the vinyl revival over the past number of years (and if you're an even cooler hipcat - cassettes 🤣). Looking forward to the full review here. Thank you Gabor. 😎👍

    As far as I know the only real difference between this one and the “big” GP-200 are the extra foot switches and the expression pedal - and a few different I/Os in the back! It’s crazy how good these “cheap” brands are getting - and I also think that there is not much point in comparing it to a real Marshal or Boogie or Fender Amp…does it have good, usable cleans, edge of breakup, and gain sounds…that’s much more important to me than how close it gets to emulating a JCM800

    WTF- do you have to waste so much time demonstrating your skills running up and down scales with distortion sounds. I wanted to hear if there were any chorus/flange sounds with the Valeton GP-200LT also how (or if) you can assign each footswitch to specific sound.
