I wish they made an old school adorama to bowns style converter for their flashpoint M series

Hey - so I watched your video after I ordered a couple of these little pieces of kit and I can see you are exactly right, the flash tube is recessed way too deep in the mount extension - but I've got to say I think you're going about this problem all wrong.... Setting aside my doubts about if these adapters will actually hold on to the face with a decent sized softbox attached, I know these flash tubes are replaceable, the use a pretty basic 3 point banana plug that goes through a set of three holes in the metal face of the Einstein I'm thinking that a trip down to the AV section at Best Buy or Monoprix and you'd be able to find a 2" or so straight banana plug extension et voila - your flash tube is back out in the optimal position, even for very shallow soft boxes. All non destructive since the little frosted glass piece comes off pretty easy and you're just increasing the length of the leads by equal amounts. **I will say, VERY IMPORTANT, if anybody reads this and tries it, make sure the extensions you're using are insulated or else it's very possible to create a short across the metal face of the einstein unit, which could spark and be dangerous, maybe even spot weld itself to the frame. I'm thinking about making a video about this on my own as a reply to yours - 4 years late, I know, but what the heck... As Bowens S takes over everything and lots of people have Paul C. Buff equipment that really is an excellent system - quirks aside - it might help some people.

Hi! I’m hoping you do a follow-up on the adapter. I have been looking for a balcar speed ring insert for a Glow strip box that I received as a gift. However, the diameter needs to be 130mm and I cannot find one for the life of me. I emailed Adorama and they say they are having trouble sourcing them as well. Anyway, you earned a subscriber and I’m looking forward to more of your videos!

Will this still work with an bowens optical snoot? I’ve heard these glow converter rings slip off the Einstein unit ?

Hi just curious if you ever tried this with the optical snoot? If so, did it work for you?

Engineers need to consult with professionals to avoid problems like this. :(
