    I wonder the same thing, however they have an option for bagless with their H7 cordless stick vacuum which is similar to the Dyson ones. Roborock is aware that most people want bagless, so there must be a good reason, however they are not really saying. I have asked.

    Thank you for the review. I think, I don't really need the auto empty dock, because if the S7 regularly vacuums my apartment, there is not much dust every time in the dust container. So emptying it once a week is more than enough. Unfortunately there is still no solution to refill the water tank. Would be nice, if this could be automated.

    I have carpet in most of my house and 3 cats so mine fills up quickly. My wife also runs the vacuums so it is often hard to know when they are full. Keeping the bin empty will give the best results because as the bin fills up you are losing air flow. My in-laws actually need this as they have dogs and can't keep thie dustbin empty.

    @@xeon2k8 re: Air Inlet - It could just suck through the standard airflow (reverse through the filter). If the suction was strong enough, it wouldn't be much of an issue. The real problem is the size difference. The S7 has a slightly wider roller, iirc. If I can get ahold of one of these, I may play around with it. The triggering software can be faked (simple HW/SW project). It's the suction seal to the bottom of the vac that has to be accounted for.

  • @jamie.andrews

    @jamie.andrews

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@kylek29 Also keep in mind the brush roller design is different with other models and the roller spins when it is emptying with the S7 and it also appears the vacuum motor is spinning in reverse to help push, although this is hard to confirm. None of these things would be possible on another RR. I think the biggest thing (like you mentioned) is the floating brush roller is different on the S7 allowing a tight seal to the dock. Without that seal and without a spinning brush roller I am not sure how you would get debris out of another model into the dock.

    DO NOT ever buy a Roborock unless you want to be stuck with useless junks after just one or two years! The Roborock might be a good vacuum in terms of its functionality and features, but it has an extremely horrible and almost non-existent warranty. I have a Xiaomi that I bought about 2 years ago. It was working great keeping my whole house clean. Our whole family loved it. All of sudden, it started to have Error 13 and stopped being fully charged. So I decided to contact the Xiaomi support. They first made the pretense of checking if it was a problem with the charging contacts, making you take ten thousand photos to email them and then finally decided that it was the problem with the robot itself. And then they just toss you off to the dealer that you bought the unit from and have nothing to do with you. It was a dealer on eBay that I bought it from who is located all the way in Beijing and had no English support and according to my research was even fined for having falsified information. I contacted them several times via numerous phone calls, emails to both the dealer and Xiaomi support itself and no avail. They have stopped responding to my emails and refusing to speak with me. I have spent $600+ on the robotic cleaner and just after 2 years, it's now useless junk. And this is Roborock's strategy. They would rather spend $$ on people to promote their products (and this is why you see roborock reviewers popping up everywhere on KZread) than on after-sale support because they know their product is crap and they want to make you keep spending money to buy their products and that's how they make money. If they built a reliable product that never breaks and with excellent after-sale support that are ready to repair and replace the product for you throughout its life, then they will make less money and to them, it's not acceptable. It's not enough that they force you to keep buying their accessories by giving you those indications on the robot to constantly tell you how badly you need to replace them no they have to make faulty products to force you to buy new ones. Yeah I will buy new ones all right, but it won't be another Xiaomi or Roborock that's for sure. And this is truly Buyer Be Aware. This is what you can get from buying Chinese products in general. Fancy product but no support. And not to mention that they keep all of your private data down to the username, password and MAC address of your wireless modem, the floorplan, layout and square footage of your home on their server permanently.

    @@mil3761 Buying a product shouldn't be like throwing a dice, first of all. But what I want to bring to people's attention is the non-existent after-sale product support or warranty. This is not an issue of just a simple replacement. This is a product that is not working at all after just 1 to 2 year and the manufacturer refuses to service it or replace it for you. Imagine you buy a car and it breaks down completely that you can't drive it at all and the dealer that you bought the car from or the manufacturer refuses to service it and you basically have to buy a new car. That's what happened to me and many Roborock buyers. Error 13 is a very common problem with Roborock. Once it happens, you can't use it at all. It's not me who's unlucky. It's you who just happened to have lucked out IF you are telling the truth. Read my story below or above this comment and you will see. I basically spent $600+ to have bought a vacuum cleaner that's now completely not usable after just 2 years. So that's the true cost of the vacuum cleaner. Don't be fooled by its lower price than the competition. It's actually more expensive because of its unreliability.
