From a non-coder perspective this is extremely interesting. I have just started making custom chat bots for teaching. These agents could have in education too, particularly in individualised learning. I didn't know about this at all. It is a real eye-opener. Thanks!👍👍

The future will be bright for teaching people who have learning disabilities. I was diagnosed with dyslexia in grade 2 and repeated the grade. I was lucky to get some extra help, my brother was not as he was born before me. I’m 45 now, and because of ChatGPT I’ve been able to do things that where nigh impossible before. I’ve come to the realization that I have ASD and ADHD as well that was missed. I didn’t realize how much I was suffering because of it but ChatGPT has been vital for my recovery. I can not stress how much this will change the world if the right tools are build and given to people to learn, grow, and succeed in life.

What do you use to make good agent bots?
Too complicated for non-technical users. It's so hard to access. Why does Google have so many different environments? Between Google AI Studio and Vertex AI, I'm confused about their AI products and AI testing infrastructure. If they want to compete with OpenAI/ChatGPT, they should make their products simpler and more accessible.

The basic idea here is that an enterprise wants to give predictable response and ground information with internal systems using API or datastores.

@@miticojo That has nothing to do with still having a system that is simpler for every day people.
What the industry needs before it becomes shocking again 😉 is not a bunch of badly designed web editor screens but a kind of a compiler so that agents can be written with all the developer infrastructure on the desktop, e.g. git versioning of agents, test cases for each agent and so on… And on top of that compiler we need the agent writing agent, so that a non programmer can just develop the agent application in a chat session. But we are slooolwy getting there, this is just another mini step in the agent direction.

Hey Wess mate, Thank you so much for this video. I really appreciate you taking us through the process of building an AI agent using Vertex AI, really like the format of this video 😊🚀🌟

I completely agree. Great, simple, short overview
Very helpful and informative, thanks Wes!
"no code required" = requires 14 hours of constant back and forth
Even this step will be replaced with an agent that builds the system, asking you clarifying questions.
You hit the nail on the head when you said ‘fancier versions of chatbots’. I like how it looks even so. But yes, I build chatbots and I couldn’t help but think the amount of time you spend trying to write those examples to direct the convo flow kind of correlates to the less amount of time you could spend building a chatbot flow in a chatbot builder. You have a bit more control in a chatbot builder. Although it’s harder to set up the utterance and entities I could argue. It’s all very interesting either way.

I need to find a great chat bot for work what would you recommend, if I may ask, please?
@user-dt6yi8zr9o

If it’s a simple task, something like Dante or Chatbase is really easy to setup. If your are enthusiastic about getting a bit more knees deep, then VoiceFlow or Botpress are good, especially if you are happy using a bit of JavaScript to help things along.
Informative and saves me time (your summaries). Thanks!

True saved 12,000 people time so far.
0:58 "Enterprise-ready AI", that crashed several times in the setup process. Hmmm. Google seems to have a different understanding than me.
This is very similar to Azure Assistants/GPT Assistants, similar options, similar tuning, same limitations etc… even the code interpreter concept and “functions” is identical, so it’s more a naming concept, Google jumping on the agents marketing to make it sound new but this is actually assistants
This is a slightly fancier IVR system, but nothing ground breaking yet
How do you use this outside the playground area?! No one showing this.
Wes, please can you recommend an free model that can analyse multiple pdfs at once?
speaking on dangers of AI, surprised nobody has made a "woke" benchmark yet. first thing I think of when I hear "Google AI" now
Is this an ai vocal agent ? Thank's
BTW,Pricing wise this seems to be pretty expensive.(chat based pricing) which means this may not be useful for creating generic help chatbots which will burn the pockets right, left and center..
They used to call it a "chatbot" now its an "agent."

If the "chatbot" is using Reinforcement Learning (RL), then it is an agent Yann LeCun is weary of letting the "chatbot" be an "agent" because he thinks it will turn the "chatbot" into a dangerous "ninja" (as he stated in a recent Lex Freidman interview).

There is a very big difference between a chatbot and an agent. Essentially, a real agent can take human actions autonomously. Problem is that there are too many scrappy chatbots out there.
How it cost ?
"This is likely what the future looks like"... for one to two months.
This is really an interstitial moment. Where this is all heading is a new paradigm where instead of writing and implementing code, that will then get used for a specific purpose, instead a device will have the ability to create code on the fly, for any given request that a user might have, and then be able to perform that task based on the code it is actively creating.
it's a step backwards. you have to anticipate the use cases.
Yeah bro I agree, They did the same thing with chips. They use to call them chips now they call them CPU and GPU
Sooo this is just what others are calling GPTs or bots. Wow, that's not gonna be confusing.
"Examples" - you see now, that's one of the clinchers to the fabled 'autonomy' and 'ruling the world' hypetrain bit. Not that it's not exciting as hell, but 100%, were just not there yet. Try a series of pdfs/docs that have graphical data as well as textual, whew... whoa, did you hear that? I think that's devin yelling from a universe away lol

Mr. Roth I have attempted to set commenters straight about your title “bait”. I thought it humorous…..maybe it’s just me “!?”.
Chat bots are just faq pages turned into a chatbox bot then? Canned faq data, and then you feed it faq responses? faq bot
Wake me up when we can download these A.I. agents into real robots who can do daily tasks for us in the physical world. Until then? /yawn

Google quality search. What you have to add reddit for it to work and it will be full of ads and junks? Yeah! new way to pollute our mind with ads! Wonderful!
How long will it take before you accidentally order hundreds of phones for one of these video's?
Why not just use crewai, seems tedious.

Most people do not understand programming or interaction with terminals at the level of using such CLI tools. It is recommended, for the large market, that there are tools integrated into the intuitive graphical interface, which are powerful and operationally easiest interface possible.
PROVE ME WRONG ___________________ The future will not need front end developers. Data will be king. The a.i. will be able to generate what ever front end thats needed. All the "programmer" has to do, is describe the data, and how it should be displayed, and the a.i. will generate the front end on the fly. To prevent an app's front end from being a random one everytime, there can be a seed that the ai can refer to, to generate a consistent screen. Then changing UIs are easy, like color, theme, or what ever.
Google has the worst user interfaces in the world, but Messie have mastered them perfectly. 🤕
The future looks quite boring

AI in costumer service is the worst thing I know. I rather buy from a company twice as expensive than buying something from the AI service site.

To me this looks like a worse version of openAI’s GPT builder. Less accessible, more complicated, more buggy, and a less user friendly dashboard.
A new bunch of Google nonsense, not the most useful thing, not the easiest thing to learn, not gonna change your life, not gonna make it easier. I just need a coding assistant.
6 minute in and i am not impressed at all...... pass

Which company has a million token context window and that too a multimodal?
I just wasted an hour of my life that I'll never get back, trying this out. This thing is a train-wreck. The UI is wonky and unreliable, nothing about it is intuitive in the slightest, the documentation is crap, etc. This feels half-baked at best to me.
This doesn't look very intelligent to me, with all that examples etc you have to provide it kinda looks like a parrot that's repeating. We have a long way to go.
Hey Wes, I'm a little disappointed in your title. There is no suggestion of SHOCKING REVELATIONS regarding these agents. How am I supposed to be excited to click your videos WITHOUT the SHOCK!!!!
