The dynamic range of the kit and the fact there is no positional sencing makes playing jazz a little difficult. Also, if you watch enough reviews on this kit, you will find out the kit Hass some issues and too many cons to consider buying it. The module is the best part, but the kit itself is not that improved from the Strike Pro Se kit, and infact in some ways, it isn't as good and only all the things you can do in the module and the color big touch screen makes that better but overall I would avoid Alesis until they actually come out with a great kit and not upgtaded beginner toy kits.

Yeah, I completely want the module once they sell it. Totally hoping this module with the correct triggers and better set up it’ll absolutely kick ass. Sweetwater definitely has a few moments where Nick is playing some sensitive snare drum stuff that’s more along the lines of R&B jazz

I once had a Roland td8 many years ago for home use, it was simple but a great kit easy to use some good sounds for back then, now I own a VAD507 and not over impressed, I had better cymbal sounds on the td8, so have just seen the Alesis strata prime and it looks fantastic, the module is probably the best on the market, and was tempted to go and have a go on one and buy it, until I watched this video,thanks guys, and then the bomb dropped you can't play traditional Cross stick which I use alot, I can't believe Alesis in making that decision I can live without Bluetooth, so until Alesis put that on the snare drum I want be buying one, real shame

I bought the strata prime...bass drum was garbage module would cut out during tuning...returned kit within a week

May I get the module and use it to control my Roland KV kit? I love BFD but hooking up the computer every time is a real drag.

The module is cool, but it probably will not work well with non Alesis pads. The other problem is they totally redid the trigger system for the pads on the Strata Prime, so the module is designed to work with those.

So lemon extra cymbals and alesis cymbals from older models (strike) would they struggle?

@@MultiMikey81 Alesis added 55 trigger presets in the last firmware update, some alesis and some third party. I don't know which third party triggers are supported. But I guess/hope with time all the big brands will be implemented.

Could you use a Roland digital snare with the Strata module ?

I tried this set in the music store nearby. Definitely a good set, but for what it is, the action, and the limitations, I think it's way overpriced. I would recommend it to my students of it was priced max $2100 to $2400.

Maybe learn the module so you can use the crosstick. It has a very good setup for it. Surprising to see your hate of alesis show that blatantly. I won't be watching your biased reviews anymore.

I have seen multiple videos about this kit. pretty much every video that is out. and not one of them shows it being able to do a real cross stick.
