A 5-door Jimny is, in all honestly, a good thing. The charm is still there. Fairly. Loving everything except the grille. They just had to add chrome to it. The all-black (the one in the older models) looks cleaner IMO.

Indian Suzuki's decision to make it a poor man's G-Wagon through chrome and metallic paint shows how out of touch they are on what made it so popular. The basic colours are what made it so popular.

One could backen the grille😂 The slightly longer wheelbase would work between climbs, water crossings and mud I think. Stil a very respectable package indeed.

I've always found it appealing to my senses. Partly due to the manual gear option and the affordability overall. Now, it makes even much better sense. I am liking the amount of options now available to us, South Africans. Thank you for the video.

Thank you so much Mzwandile. From my side the small size always made it a winner especially with what it can do, and sometimes supassing bigger 4x4s with its capabilities. Now it's not so nippy anymore, I wonder if people who loved it for its size will be interested in this one🤔. It's a catch 22 as some always thought it needed to be like this to sell more🙂

This will be the equivalent to the 4 door Jeep, will sell like crazy and the people have been asking for this for a long time.

Redesign chassis to electrify it with a lower centre of gravity and flat floor inside throughout. Add frunk, 5ft tray behind the second row of seats (dual cab ute) and increase clearance to 240mm+ Don't change anything else, just make sure one variant has 450km highway range and it would be the most popular car in the world

I wish the 5 door was available here in the U.K. It looks awesome.

All is Good with the Car. What it lacks is an aggressive engine

One of the most loved cars wherever it goes but you guys love big engines over there. This is a very small one😅

I believe those who were Jimny lovers but put off by the impractical 3 door version will consider & appreciate the 5 door version...I'll have to see it in the metal first, to tell whether I like the stretched version or not...Anyway thank a lot for the video...🙏🙏🙏

I think I still love the 3-door, it is such an usual car and always punches above its weight. This is almost as normal as a car can be. I understand however that this happened because customers felt they needed this and it will continue to sell as "monied" people love these for those bundu trips and now they can go as a family in one car😅 I appreciate your presence and input Demtumza🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🫶🏾

Owner of an LJ80v back in the day. I would love to have an open cheque book and do this little one up with a more power bigger tyres/wheels and off you go into mini Jeep places. Lockers of course. Awesome.

It was crazy slow at that weight, but now it will be even slower. I can only think of buying this with an engine upgrade. Suzuky should provide a more powerful engine option.

@@alextoader2880 Ok. But you are living in the USA, right? So, you have all a strict speed limit and drive like my grandma (I am Joking). In Germany we have a different Sight what Speeding means.... but more power is not wrong. The Problem is, if Suzuki builds Stringer engines, they can not run in Europe. It is too expensiv, cause factorys have a Maximum, what their fleet needs on fuel. So, they build engines that are smaller.

Most markets this Jimny is gonna be sold, dont really need a stronger engine. Here in latin american there’s tons of traffic so most of the time youre at a fairly low speed. This SUV is good here for the bad roads we have to drive on constantly.

My old Suzuki sidekick 4x4 was a 4 speed stick with I think 120hp yea it wasn't quick but it was able to go anywhere and as solid as a rock....I wish i still had it

Is Suzuki found the way to put the 1.4 turbo with the 6 speed in this little one, it would be awesome

I hope the hole world can access the 5 door option as the 3 door option is just not practical enough for space to warrant buying one in New Zealand

In Mexico the 3 door Jimny's are sold thru the dealers in an auction style system, there is so high demand that every once in a while they sell them and if you are lucky enough to get a slot you can buy one. I hope that the 5 door Jimny gets all the attention from the posers so the 3 door classic Jimny is over looked and its easier to get one.

Will it come to France soon ?

This colour SHOULD'VE been the release colour. The decision makers at Suzuki need a reality check or better yet fired, thinking that this 5 door was some sort of G-Wagon with chrome and metallic paint, the worst off road. Those flat base colours are what MADE the new Jimny so successful in sales.

Would be way better with an FJ Cruiser-like half back doors, with a longer rear overhang at the cost of approach angle.

I guess it's a "go anywhere" car, not get the faster. So you know you not getting a quick car but it can take you anywhere

I hope one day they will change that under powered naturally aspirated engine (add turbo) and the 5 speed to 6 speed. To have a car running 100k/h at 3000rpm is too high rev for law speed.

I think they are scared to push it higher because of it's light weight, it might just be dangerous to overpower it🤔. A turbo won't hurt though but it will kill its longevity🤔

This is a game changer and now to put a 1.8 or 2.0 litre motor option in it and it will be an even bigger hit. If you are going to do it, do it properly.

A very down to earth and honest car.

Jimny has become too expensive for what it is. If you really are going to offroad you will want the 2 door, as the extended wheelbase in the 4 door makes the breakover pretty poor for offroad use. If you using it for the school run you dont need the 4x4 setup and a Grand Vitara will be far better suited with the same ground clearance, better economy, spec and comfort. I really hate that new cheap looking chrome grill.

Initial negative feedback from owners in India is the steering, stiff and big turning radius. Hope Maruti can fix this.

@@sebuwam Even in-Uk, Suzuki almost almost couldn't sell their regular sized jimny due to Carbon tax. But then they had collaborated with toyota, to bring two hybird models Suzuki Vitara based on RAv4 hybird and Suzuki Swace based on Corolla hybrid, and thus able circumvent their Carbon emission allowances.

I think its 3 star rating is mostly lowered by its "analogue" nature as adcanced safety systems are not available add that to pedestrian protection being low you will not see 4 stars forsure. Now if you make it more advanced, your customers will say the "difference" is gone🤔

@@sebuwam no its not a go further car unfortunately. I am unable to comment on the gear ratios etc, but if it is the same as the 3 door model, cruising at 100kmph is a chore. The RPM sits at over 3000rpm. It feels as though it has to work too hard and is noisy at motorway speeds. Don't misunderstand me this still a great little car, I am just relaying my experience with the Jimny.

@@robotstobor3388 I totally understand, that experience can be frustrating if you prefer a quite car and Suzuki's 1.5L non-turbo is just loud. Not only in this car but with others as well. I complained about it before, smooth shifting but the ratios are too short and give nothing for the grunt coming out especially between gear 1 and 3 (manual). Not sure about Auto but usually auto is worse

yes, i love it but it will not be as good off road. i been Sierra and Jimny driver since 1996. I pride myself offroad going where all the big guys go with ease. with potholes, i could easily drive down one side an up the other, where the big 4wds had to pick a line and straddle them. this model is just that little bit too long to do what Jimny is famous for, hard core off road. ramp over another hicup and when they did potholes in the video, they kept 2 wheels on a level surface at centre of track, take that away as in real life, we dont have a level trail, left and right of potholes, it is drive in and drive out, if you arent too long.

Still has a terrible turning circle I see. I recently drove a Jeep Rubicon ute, despite being twice the length of a Jimmy it has the same sized turning circle! Unbelievable.

Il est temps que les petites 4×4 reviennent. Marre des escroqueries hyper chères des monospaces surélevés called suv. Vive la jymny .

Unfortunetly the back door is swing model,not suitable for offroad activity or less spacious home carport...😢
