Little guy I think you made the right choice with trucks that’s one of my favorite trucks to drive other than an ol school Mack RD800, I drove a 4900ex for about 2 years hauling coal and I loved that truck of course it was an older one with a 550+ Cat with a 18speed and 52’s under it. Western Star is a hell of a tough truck for sure. Be careful out there and keep it between the ditches brother

That white Peter car was the short hood version 379, in which it also has the extended hood version , measuring hoods alone my 389 glider has a 73” hood, But at that point it doesn’t matter they are all hoods! Just a different make and style truck! It’s all good the WS is still a hood truck! 👍

FYI, what you have is the Western Star 4900SF. The 4900EX is just a tad longer than the SF version, the EX meaning "Extended Hood". All bull-manure aside, whether it's the 4900SF or the 4900EX, they are both good looking rigs.
