I waited over 20 years to see this band live. Chris Cornell is my most favorite singer ever. He was gone before I was even out of Detroit that night. I went from the highest high of seeing these gentlemen not 30ft. from me, to the lowest low knowing that the world was now deprived of this voice. Rest easy, Chris, you are so very missed. No one sings like you anymore.

So many of his lyrics would fit beautifully as an epitaph for Chris, but “no one sings like you anymore” is the one that makes me tear up a little every single time I hear Black Hole Sun.

For me „bad motorfinger“ is the greatest soundgarden album and it’s a pitty that it’s so unpopular! So thanks so much for reacting to that underestimated album of the 90ies! Also singer Chris Cornell did solo work after huge success with Audioslave and also the album Temple of the Dog with the future members of Pearl Jam. There’s a lot to hear in this Soundgarden vein. Chris sounds the best on their song Beyond The Wheel (song 8 of 8 from Germany show). Unbelievable range! It's from 1990. I SWEAR he kills it. It's very early in his career.Anybody on this thread that hasn't heard it should check it out. His high notes aren't even falsetto. He's JUST THAT STRONG!

That's the proper reaction to hearing Soundgarden and more specifically the voice of God himself.
