FIRST LISTEN - Nathan Fake - The Sky Was Pink (Holden Remix)

Музыка

Just finished listening to James Holden’s Remix of “The Sky Is Pink” by Nathan Fake for the first time. Usually I get a little over the top with these reaction videos, but this track left me pretty much speechless.
There’s few things I love more in the history of progressive house than when Nathan Fake and James Holden get together to create musical fusion and melt all of our brains in the process.
‘The Sky Was Pink’ was Nathan Fake’s second release on James Holden’s awesome Border Community Label. His first release for Border Community was the legendary track ‘Outhouse’ which for me is one of the top highlights of Holden’s game changing Balance 005 mix.
While I reacted to the remix in the video, everything that makes the remix great already lives in Nathan Fake’s original composition, so I really recommend everyone to listen to that (and spark a spliff).
It’s hard to explain a track like this. I’ll just say… this record really lets you be, without ever letting go. I don’t even know what I’m trying to say, but this track is so not pushy and flows so well that your mind just drifts but always returns.
Wonderful track. So stoked to be back at it with the reaction videos. Nathan Fake if you see this I would really really love to have you on for an interview.

You are actually speechless with this one. It's a great tune. Intelligent production. Hints of Aphex Twin style with the percussion. It just builds and builds. This is like fine wine and true progressive house. Has a German influenced sound too. This was a massive track for me in around 2006.

Dude check out James Holden’s Horizons, it was his breakout track. There is a fun story about Lee burridge picking up the promo from a stack of Sasha’s tunes and rinsing it out for months. Nick Warren got on to it and made it huge.

There was no time in music like the 90s dance scene, you'd hear a tune on say judge jules, BBC radio One, and say, "omg this is the best tune ever" then 50 minutes later, it'd be, "omg THIS is the best tune ever!" on Pete tong! You'd hear about 20nall time favourites EACH WEEK! THere was so much talent releasing absolute bangers on a conveyor belt, just non stop it was, and still not gett8ng credit for their composing and writing genius.

try HR 8938 CEPHEI of deadmau5. It's tough to describe the feeling this track brings out in me. kinda depressing, stressing; hahaha, but at the same time one of the best progressive songs ever, like this song is one of the best to hear at night. you won’t regret it, and if someone can recommend me more song like this one pls.
