    Would anyone who prays, pray for our family? I’m currently going through my third miscarriage (2nd in a row) and it’s been so sad for us. We are so grateful to have children and we have been trying for another for 3 years. Thank you!

    Sounds like separation anxiety for Emily - my retired racing greyhounds had it and I got great advice from the rescue - here are the tips. 1 -biggest one that helped me is everyone leave the house like you are leaving (take the car keys etc) for just 5 min staying quiet so she believes you left then come in and heavily reward her, wait 15 min and then do it again... basically do it over and over and start adding 5 min longer to her wait time and as long as she didnt chew anything you reward with praise and keep adding time (if she chews you dont reprimand you just go back to 5min and start over). Its a heavy about a 2-3 day commitment (not do it once a day but basically do all day long) but you are teaching her you always come back. Took my a full weekend for both my anxious furkiddos (one chewed cushions and one howled the moment I left) but by monday I was exhausted and they could care less when I left :) 2 - only when you leave give her something like a kong with peanut butter in it to occupy her - so again she associates you leaving with something special. 3 - long walk or heavy play before you leave, exhausted doggies tend to sleep while you are gone 4- thunder compression shirt (I didnt have to do this but I know others whose pups wear theirs every time they leave). There are meds too but you might want to try these before going to that. Best of luck! thank you for adopting an older dog and understanding she needs time. Love your channel and the positive messages!

    We did this with our dogs too. Like you said, it took a few days, but it does work. Giving the dogs a chew bone or kong and leaving the tv or radio on works well. We also shut all doors and gated off a few areas. Leaving an anxious dog with free roam of the entire house never goes well. Lastly, we ended up getting another doggo, so our dog wasn't alone. It worked out really well.

    Thunder shirts are AMAZING!!! Best thing we could have done for our pup. She was literally terrified of wind, snow, rain and any loud noises. Now, in the middle of a 2 day blizzard with 100km/hr winds...she could care less! She seems like a sweet girl that just needs love. These suggestions are amazing!!

    Poor Emmy. When I leave my dogs home I always leave on the TV or radio for noise. They are so used to the noise when we are home and then to turn everything off was too quiet for them. The noise is comfort like we are still there. I also have cameras on my dogs so I can check on them when I am gone. Also, don't forget to take water and snacks for Emmy too when out running around. We always bring out everything when we stop to get something for us so they always feel like they are a part of everything. That is comfort to them. She is scared when you leave because she thinks you are abandoning her which means she is really bonding to you. Good luck. She seems like such a sweet dog.

    I didn't do antibiotics with my IVF cycle. I ended up with the doc recommending we transfer all 4 embryos because we had lost all 14 embryos except 4 on the day of transfer. I got pregnant with quadruplets and I have 3 survivors who just turned 21 years old just before Christmas. I will pray for your family that you will be adding a new family member this year. ❤️

    Hello! I have a dog who has PTSD from a previous owner. What helped us is setting up a crate and leaving it unlocked and in the living room. We put some toys in it, gave him treats in there, and made it his safe place. After a few weeks he loved being in the crate because dogs naturally love to have a “cave” to relax in. Now telling him to go to his crate is a happy place and it keeps him and our house safe :)

  • @Sarahchip

    @Sarahchip

    2 жыл бұрын

    Yes, my dog LOVES her crate and she was a rescue too. It's her safe place where she goes if she's nervous, anxious, or just wants a moment to herself 🤣 it's never used as a punishment so she doesn't associate it with that at all. I think back to our first family dog 20 years ago where we would say loudly "do you need to get in your crate??" If they were misbehaving. Oh how far we've come!!

  • @deekrebs7144

    @deekrebs7144

    2 жыл бұрын

    I'd suggest a plastic crate rather than a wire one. Cover all but the front in an old blanket to create the cave.. Have the family sleep in old clothes/t-shirts for a couple nights and put those in her crate so she has a part of you with her. Time and patience are the key. Edit: Home Depot allows dogs. When you stop for a drink, ask for a small water, no ice. Most places will give it to you at no charge and Emily will have a drink too.

    @@shannonsweeney5404 I've been doing rescue for 35+ years and most of the dogs I currently have suffer some sort of PTSD. Most can get beyond their past with time and patience. Yes, I had to do a strong antibiotic every IVF round. Also use something for vaginal infections. I think they are taking every precaution they can when they do that, just in case someone has something going on but no symptoms, which can happen. You just need to get some good probiotics in you while taking the antibiotics. I am having to deal with that now since I am on antibiotics for a sinus infection.

    A kennel might actually help her. Give her a safe "den" to retreat to. Get a good, sturdy plastic kennel. Not a wire one. Those are not Houdini proof. There is a proper way to crate train and can be very beneficial. Remember, she's still adjusting and learning too. ❤️

    Emily may benefit from some CBD oil, I give it to my Jack Russell to help his anxiety. It works well to calm him down. It may also benefit her in later years if she gets the typical retriever hip/joint issues.

    My last dog was a rescue from very abusive circumstances. She ate furniture, destroyed various items, and was really stressed. My veterinarian suggested even with a wire kennel, place a blanket over it to make a den for my dog. Having her safe area in the kennel to go to worked very well. The destructive tendancies stopped within 2 weeks.

    That is why I feel like Philip and I are alike: I do too hide presents and totally forget where I hid it. I even find presents years later that I forgot I even bought and wrapped and hid! Good luck with your IVF! ♥️

    I have been through two successful FETs (Jan 2019 & Jan 2021) after an unsuccessful fresh transfer. I did not take antibiotics with any of them. With my first medicated FET, I experienced gestational hypertension, LGA baby and postpartum hemorrhage. After doing some research and discovering that this may be linked to the lack of ovulation, I switched to a modified natural cycle and managed to avoid all of my previous issues! Best of luck, Phil and Alex!

    Poor Emily! I’d definitely recommend finding a large heavy duty plastic crate she can’t hurt herself on. Put it in your family room or wherever you hang out the most. Feed her in there, but don’t shut the door at all for a long while. Look up crate games, and play them daily. Lots of treats only in the crate! Once she is comfortable going in, give her delicious things like frozen stuffed kongs, and shut the door while you are still in the room. For a dog with a history like her, this is going to take time, but a safe space to call her own is really what will be best for her. My girl that I got as a puppy took about a year to like her crate even without trauma (yes, she’s a diva lol), but now she goes in there on her own, especially when I’m eating (crate game success haha). It will take a lot of patience, but I know you guys will handle it with grace. Best of luck ❤️

    You got this Alex!! ❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️ I just feel it, God will be blessing you guys with another little one. I just know it!! In the mean time I’ll be praying 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻. My husband and I were given a gift from our youngest son and daughter-in-law at Christmas. As my husband was opening it. We saw it. A little tiny stocking and a Baby Bennett 2022 sign. Naturally we cried as this is our youngest son. So we have been Blessed this year also! I’ve not been on here in awhile and OMG Cassidy’s hair has grown sooooo much. She’s gonna be the best big sister like her big sisters!!! God Bless You All! Much ❤️

    I have a dog who has separation anxiety! This stuff is amazing and helps with anxiety. It is NaturVet Hemp Quiet Moments. I get it at Chewy. Also I had a guy who came to help me train my dogs. He always told me to feed them in their kennel so it would become their happy place. It got to where they when they took a nap they would just go to their kennel. He said NOT to use their kennel as a place to punish him. That’s defeated the purpose of making the kennel a happy place!
