First Impressions Of Paris (10 Hours In France)

Join me as I spend the day in Paris, from an extremely unique Synagogue, to a Kosher Restaurant, and of course the Eiffel Tower! This layover was short, but I hope to visit again soon for a longer period of time.

Thank you for sharing your visit in Paris with us! I hope it's okay that I am living vicariously through you and your videos. I've never traveled (other than locally when I was growing up in New York) and now due to disability I can no longer travel. Baruch Hashem when I watch your videos, I get to see places I will most likely never see in person. I also love that you keep your son's face private. Too many children today are growing up online and that might not be a good thing. Will you have a video of your visit to Romania? One of my Grandmothers is from Bucharest and I'd love to see places there (although I am sure the place looks very different than when she lived there).

Shlomie, my friend, I look forward to all of your videos-from your stunning footage in Ukraine to inviting viewers into your home to see your beloved family during Seder. I’ve always been fascinated by the Hasidim, and often visit different Hasidic communities if only to bring home genuine cholent and shrug sandwiches! I thank you so much for the work you do by promoting understanding for us all.

Hi Schloime! After today I’m so heartbroken over the amount of unnecessary evil in this world. I work for a Jewish family and their Rabbi was supposed to land in Israel today (yesterday it’s 1 am)… thankfully that did not happen. I can’t wait to hear your take on events. I have my own opinions and I’m not real happy with the U.S.. ($6B, really?) Hamas has truly shown the evil they wish to impart on the world and jewish or not we must unite and bring peace to this land so the people can live and practice their lives and values as they see fit. Not having to worry of what attack will come what next holiday… I mean honestly they’re going to rely on the time people use to observe their faith, see it as a weak point, and attack… peace and health to all the families suffering, all the worried relatives, all the people being persecuted for believing in their own way.

Hi Shlomie, I was just thinking that you should mention what happened during the Nazi occupation, and then you did. You may want to consider exploring places like Budapest and what the Nazis did there. If you've never seen the movie, Perlasca: the Courage of a Just Man, I would highly recommend seeing it. It's tough to watch the atrocities, but it let's you know the history.

    I don't recall if you're currently living in Israel, but I'm sure you have loved ones there. I'm praying for you guys in particular and everyone else who in danger. I'm not Jewish but as a Christian who has a love for the Hebrew Bible so strong I went to college to study it I see you guys as cousins of sorts. Our religions are more alike than any other two religions I am aware of. We have our differences, but we share scripture, we share several thousand years of common theology. My apologies if this is difficult to read, I don't know any modern Hebrew, I can read ancient Hebrew with study tools to assist but my understanding is that ancient Hebrew is so different that even Arabic is more like modern Hebrew than ancient Hebrew is. No idea if that's accurate so if all else fails this is psalm 144. can't seem to get the right to left formatting to behave on youtube apparently.

Whats up Shloime, just wanted to pop in as a subscriber and say you are a cool guy, and I've enjoyed the tours you give. I'm having a problem right now where there are people that don't like me, and they are calling me names in a round about way. I personally have always tried to look for content of character, rather than skin color, gender, orientation, religion, or ethnicity. We all have our virtues and also areas we wish we were better. Anyways, you take care and if I'm ever in Paris I might enjoy popping in for a service. Sorry, Im not sure what you call those

France has a great (though difficult) history with the Jewish people, especially during the holocaust. There was a great resistance to the Vichy government among Jewish and non-Jewish French people, a very important part of history that should not be understated, or forgotten. But that was then, and this is now. Teach the history and celebrate the present> Vive La France!
