First Impressions of Munnar, India 🇮🇳 | 4 Hour Road Trip from Kochi | Huge Indian Food Thali!
We are leaving the backwaters of Alappuzha and heading to the cool mountain air of Munnar, another look at the beautiful state of Kerala! Join us and our private driver, Sukesh, as we embark on this road trip. Along the way, we stop for fresh fruit, snap some selfies by a roadside waterfall, Forest scolds a monkey (for doing what monkeys do), and then we find a delicious Indian Thali lunch. Finally, we reach our destination at the Dreamcatcher Plantation Resort on the terraced tea hill of Munnar. This property is beautiful. We also experienced a live cooking demonstration of a rabbit coconut dish.

We are the Bags Packed Family: Jonathan and Kelly with our three children. We sold our home in Alaska, USA, eight years ago, and headed overseas. We are teachers and found fantastic teaching positions in India. Two years later, we moved to the United Arab Emirates. Three years after that, during the beginning of the pandemic, we made the move to our current teaching jobs in Indonesia. We love traveling and finding adventures as a family. We hope that our travels will inspire and provide our children with the confidence to meet new people, try new foods, and enjoy learning a new language. If you are interested in the unique spice trade history of Kerala then you need to visit Muziris in Thrissur. Muziris is a very historical place. To give context, Columbus discovered America because he was seeking out a trade route to Muziris.

Danava estruscan sailors from kerala civilized Rome, Egypt and western Pagan civilization. Rome was Pagan hindu. All the perrohs of Egypt were from the land of punt north kerala India. True history of the planet has been buried.
India is a unique country in the World. It has mountains, deserts, beach, plains, snow, Religious site, Historical site, Modern Architecture, Traditional Architecture, Foods, Culture etc. In India, Kerala, Goa and Rajasthan is unique. Some other states like Tamilnadu, Kashmir, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Orissa, etc are also good. But one states has most unique among all and that is Assam. Although Tourism Infrastructure and Tourism culture needs to improve more but it is super unique. In Assam people will find both Mongolian looking people and Caucasian looking people. It has World's biggest and Smallest River Island. It has mighty Kaziranga. It has mighty Brahmaputra who is the only Male River of India. It has 2 complete Hill District. It has plains. It has one of the highest Wildlife Sanctuary. It has Ancient Religious and Historical site. It has both Indian influence food and Asian influence food. Assam is the Tea Capital of India. British had learnt about Tea plantation from Singpho Tribe of Assam. Initially Most South Indian states and Darjeeling has Assam Tea plants because British took it from Assam.

when i first started watching you guys, i assumed the kids were not interested because of their very passive faces. But i realised it’s just their default expressions haha. They’re actually so in tuned to their environment and eagerly anticipating everything (e.g. when Cedar says “i don’t have those two on my plate” when the staff was putting all the food out). What a wonderful family and intelligent and well-adjusted kids 😊

In Kerala they use to add all Spices in foods..its land of spices..but their cooking style is also different..all their dishes have a unique taste... which we cannot find anywhere in the world

Your new resort looked so amazing. The opulence of all the divine delights of Munnar blossomed in each of you at that resort. And the traditional food added to that joy.
Loved your videos guys! Here is a tip. You are going to encounter a lot of rice dishes in the south. For eating rice, scoop a small amount of rice by pressing it with your thumb, take it near your mouth, and push the rice with the back of your thumb into the mouth. If you use excavator hands like dropping rice in the mouth it will spill over and you will get it all over you. Or you can ask for a spoon.

Trivandrum and the padmabaswamy temple, Kovalam beach, shiva statue, Hope in Munnar, you trek up the mountains and check out sunrise and the tea estates. puri and sabzi, palappam and chicken curry (there are many types), Goat curry and kalappam, chicken roast, beef roast and or fry and poratta, lamb fry and parotta Also try the dessert Halwa (thick gelatenous, chewy, orange colored sweet, made of ghee and cashews, black and orange are the main ones).

Munnar tea estate is very beautiful I have explored south part of India but this one is left. One thing i will recommend is explore nilgiri hills in tamilnadu near Ooty it's different world. That is called blue mountain of India
