We have visited tens of countries and here in Santo Domingo i was robbed but i got the wallet back immediately. We never come here any more. This happened 1990. Never robbed in other countries.

El vaticano es el lugar con el índice más alto del mundo en robo de carteras y sin embargo millones lo visitan. En Nápoles Italia, están los mejores ladrones de cartera del mundo y también lo visitan. El problema es que nadie descrimina a Europa por eso, si es un pais latino si.

James and Keli, just like English, Spanish is a widespread language, and it's the official language of the Dominican Republic spoken by 99% of the population.

The problem we had with Spanish was that James studied Spanish for 8 years and majored in it at University. However for the last 4 years we lived in China which did not help our Spanish 😂 So trying to go back to it after not using it was very difficult 😆

Yes! The Dominican Republic is safe for travelers. 😄 We spent 11 days in Dominican Republic and met some really great people. We would definitely recommend Santo Domingo to start your travels.
