thank you! I'm so excited to have it installed and excited to work with @handlworks to tune it further! I have a few ideas that would help make it even better for the traffic here in NYC and I hope we can implement it into a downloadable setting in the future! 🙏🏼 Hope to meet you when I come down to hang out with Taiho and the crew. I've been meaning to get some rides in the DMV area. Since we didn't have these when I lived down there, I would love to fly around on a PEV.

Thanks for watching the video and welcome to the channel! You guys did an incredible job with the controller and I just wanted to showcase that. Thank you for working through those initial issues with the production and communicating with us every step of the way. It was absolutely worth the wait and the controller is everything that I wanted for the RX. All I have to do now is fine tune it so we can have a "NYC Build" lol and possibly a 52v/60v upgrade in the future!

I’d like to know specs for a dual 52 or 60v? If handleworks does applications for other builds & manufacturers like onyx Cty 2 dual 60v or a Rcr 72/84/96v running over 500 amps. What are the limits, if any & how it compares to other top controllers?

thanks for joining us for this ride and welcome back to the comments section! Make sure to sign up for their update emails. I missed out on the initial launch for the version 1 of this controller. I had the opportunity to purchase it a few weeks later but opted not to because I was waiting for the "light module support". I was lucky to get in one of the first batches but I did have to wait a few months because they ran into some issues with the production of the controller. However, I do appreciate that they were willing to delay it a bit in order to make sure that the controller was up to their standards and tested properly. We'll see how the controller holds up long term but the initial quality in the first 100 miles has been great. I hope you'll be able to get your hands on one soon and when you do you'll see that it was totally worth waiting for!

thanks man! I'm always trying to improve the videos by refining the intro and refining the editing. I never did anything like this until I started KZread so all this is new to me lol. As for the music, I'm trying to find a way to balance that lol. I used to have music playing through out the video but people enjoyed the ambient sounds of the motor and the city more so I've started to leave it out. Some of these royalty free tracks are dope and would love to have it for longer! Maybe for those "ambient sound only with lofi/ synthwave rides" I'll keep that. hahaha yea, I hate this route ate night. As a first generation immigrant, I have all the bad juju superstitions from the homeland engrained in my DNA so I hate that stuff. I would probably die if I had to ride through a cemetery at night. That particular one is massive and has no lights at night. if you look it up on google maps, its called Calvary Cemetary. Well said about the mods. New isn't always better. Sometimes its just about finding new ways to enjoy what we have and modding the best way to do that. Just like the way I'm itching to get my hands on those MadWheelz V2 you mentioned. I just gotta wait because I have something being made for the S73 at the moment!

Great review, just picked up an R myself and have been eyeing this upgrade. Couldn’t agree more with these being cruisers; if I wanted power I would’ve opted for a ghost cat or Surron. The @handlworks controller mod is perfect for what you’re looking to do because it’ll give you the extra umph you need to haul the trailer comfortably. It does it well stock but even better with it!

They desperately need a Revv1 customized controller. Ride1up is one of the larger e-bike specific companies and they are selling the Revv1 like hotcakes because it has better performance than the Super 73-R (52V system vs 48V) and about half the cost. The Revv1 comes with 52V20Ah 35A control in boost mode off the shelf (what the Super 73 - R series should have been) but you can add a second battery to get 40Ah (I am running 52V40Ah with the dual battery balancer). Same motor as the S73-R if I am not mistaken. One thing I have noticed is that so many e-bike "influencer" are flat landers, so they focus on top speed a lot and talk very subjectively about torque since they have so few ascents in their daily rides to tax the system. I track all my rides and my app calculates total ascent feet, gives me the incline %, etc. I live in a coastal area with lots of hills, I have about either a 120 yard 9% incline or 200 yard 6-7% incline just to get away from my house (and have to climb that to get back home to, so I value my torque at the end of a ride when Sag hits). So torque is super important on the hills for me; I understand that top end will likely not improve (that is largely determined by system voltage, total weight, roll resistance, etc) which I am fine with, I want an e-bike not a e-moped/e-moto... I just want some greater torque for quality of life in SoCal. The Handl Works guys get it, they are in the OC. Handle Works, help a brother out... please take a look at the Revv1 and make us a great aftermarket controller system with full light kit. That would be awesome! PS: And as much as I like the P51's frame and suspension, it should have been 52V too at that price... and direct drive.

thanks for joining us for the ride and welcome to the channel! I'm glad you enjoyed it because I had a heck of a time recording this one! I would say it's safe to assume that we will go through the battery much faster with the way I have the controller tuned because its pulling harder and sending more current to the motor allowing it to achieve better performance. Like I said in the video, the tuning takes advantage of the two 20ah batteries I have running in parallel. I'm sure that it will have the same affect on the single battery set up, however, here are different settings you can download and flash on to the controller to help you accomplish what you need. @Handlworks can walk you through those options but their members page is pretty easy to follow and understand! I hope this helps!

This is a story as old as time & the mod bug, no matter how minuscule, is undefeated. I have so many questions, but I want to know, in this incremental way of getting to eventual content, what a dual 52v system would do & how it’ll perform. That’s the thing about mods, in order to get to content, one has to go about this in a strategic way. Very strategic.

thanks for joining us for the video! Lol yeaaaaa man, I said last year I was done modding and here we are. If you want to see how a 52v system would perform, check out @yatuchavez . He did the 52v upgrade a few months ago. Yea. I take a very restrained and strategic approach to modding. With a blank canvas like a Super73 RX, it's very easy to go overboard very quickly.

@@eyebahnrides I’ve been a subscriber for some short time now. I started looking seriously in December 2023. Matter of fact, your build & three others are what showed me the endless possibilities of the Super 73, which I someday hope to own. Unfortunately, but fortunately I’ve decided to take a different route & an approach similar to what you’ve suggested. I’m not much of a wrench turner; however, I have wants & desires. Not modding to the moon, but modding to suit a purpose & fulfill an idea. Fact is, nothing’s perfect; you have to take ownership. That’s what I feel a majority of people do & within their means/abilities. I hope to have something on the road soon, so that I can finally enjoy what others are able to enjoy. Also, in addition to a great build, your camera setup is nicely done & I can see the progression, which I believe you may have touched on briefly in a vlog amongst the many vlogs. Looking forward to seeing more, until then, enjoy in great health & thanks for all that you do.

thanks for watching and welcome to the channel! I'm glad to hear you've been enjoying the videos. I use PEV's because the Subway system is unreliable. For example: It took man 1 hour to get to work because of all the problems on the subway and it took me 45 minutes to get home. It's also very stressful because it's very crowded on the train. I hate that feeling of being squeezed into a tiny space with hundreds of people underground. If I rode my PEVs, I would get to work in 20 minutes and I'd be much less stressed out! I like my PEVs because it allows me to enjoy my commute instead of stressing about it. I hope this answers your question!

Hey there... You know I love your videos. BUT... Isn't there a safer place in Queens to test things especially speed related? 14:40 What if a kid ran out into the street while you were testing? Or a car had tried to make that yellow light? Please be safe and do your part to keep your community safe as a content creator.

thanks for watching! There are remote parts of Queens in the opposite direction of where I work that is probably safer to do so. Unfortunately, most of my videos are recorded on my way to work so that's why I waited for this part of the commute to open it up a little (for example, 2 hours early so that I had enough time to record this and still have time to settle in at work). I knew that it wouldn't satisfy a lot of people to only see a short clip of the power, so that's one of the reasons I said "speed testing will occur through out the video when permitting". The actual real speed test happened once I got on the Avenue in Manhattan. Side note: I've been taking alot of flak for the areas I've done some of my speed runs in earlier videos so I've been searching for an area for the last 6 months. I finally found a service road close enough to my house where it won't crush the battery to get to and it's quiet enough to do speed runs. If all goes well the video coming out next week will have a preview of it. I hope this clarifies a few things!

thanks for joining us for this first impressions video Brian! The longest ride I've been on so far with the new controller and the dual battery setup is 40 miles. I think I could've gotten a few more miles before it died. Keep in mind that I had a few people testing it out and gunning it while they were on it. Also, I had a few riders over 275lbs on the bike for a good amount of miles. I think if it were just me riding it I could confidently say 35+ miles of mode 3 mixed high speed riding. However, if I were just chilling and switching between mode 2 and mode 3, I could get close to 45+ miles. I used to get about 55-60 miles with the dual battery set up pre controller upgrade.

I'll be doing a few more test runs over the next 100 or so miles and I'll do a follow up video to this. Something along the lines of a "250 Miles Ownership Review" type of thing

    Ай бұрын

thanks for watching the video and welcome to the channel Eli! Those speeds still technically classify the Super73 as a class 3 ebike. Cops will never bother me at check points and they will always leave me alone because I'm not operating my ebike as a complete menace to society. Like I always say, the speed and aggression that I ride with is necessary to help keep you out of trouble with the aggressive vehicles on the road. For example, the top speed of my car is 150+mph and that doesn't mean I'm operating at those speeds all the time. You operate your vehicle within the conditions that you're given and when you need the power you use it to get out of sticky situations Hope this helps explain things a bit more!

glad you enjoyed the video! Unfortunately, those are the results of them hand building each and every controller and testing it to make sure they don't fry your bike. As a business, I'm sure they would love to sell a ton of these things so that they can pay for the bills and use the revenue to start other projects for the community. If folks really want one, my suggestion is to sign up for the email blast and they will notify you as soon as they become available. That's what I did when I was considering purchasing the first version of the controller last year. When I got the email, I decided not to because I saw it didn't support the lights. So I ended up getting the first batch of the light module BAC855. To give you a sense of timeline, I learned about them in April of 2023. I pre-ordered BAC855 with the light module in October of 2023. I received it in March 2024 and it took me 3 weeks to finally have time to install it because I was traveling for work. This video was filmed last week. I work in the sales & marketing of high end mechanical products and this is the same issue we run into. If you want it hand built and done right, it's just going to take time until they can grow the team and scale up the production (without a drop in quality). If @handlworks was just buying generic controllers from Asia and just slapping a sticker on it and selling it to us as "custom", I'm sure they could crank it out.

Its sucks we can't buy retail directly from ASI and too bad GrinTech stopped selling their FrankenBAC855 kit. @@handlworks People who want your products will be happy to know... You should copy/paset that instead of "Sold Out" so potential customers will know that you guys are dedicated to keeping up with the demand. Whenever I have consulted businesses on their e-commerce platforms, I always recommend that for products that are in high demand, they replace "Sold Out"/"Out of Stock" with an interactive "Notify Me". This keeps potential buyers that were recommended to the product (like I do with yours) from thinking that company may be undependable.

Thanks for watching! Yes it always resets back to mode 1. However, it doesn’t require you to go into the app to change it back. So it’s much easier than the original controller because all you have to do is use the lcd display to change it. That’s also no different from how my scooter is. I always put it in eco mode before going indoors because it’ll prevent the scooter from potentially hurting me or another person. I actually had an accident where it took off on my leg on X mode and it basically tore up the skin on my ankle and calf
