The ZF trans can handle a boatload of torque. It’s a great trans for modding. The DCT is also a great trans BUT if you’re a modding nut like myself, you can overpower that trans and the clutch packs will eventually need to be replaced. Nice specd M3…looking at a similar version except the X-Drive.

Great video! I had a 2019 mercedes AMG E53 it was amazing but sold it as it was time for me for a change. I would love to jump into the E63s but wow a +45k upgrade just for a bigger engine than the one I had. That got me looking into the M3 Competition and I think I’ll be looking forward to own the Xdrive version. Thanks for your review. Your car looks amazing on that color!

Appreciate the honest feedback. Didn’t feel biased. Had a DCT E90 M and then a manual F80M. I’ll likely go with a manual primarily because I like more engagement. If BMW had opted for a DCT I would have considered it but the 8 speed auto is missing the thump in the back for shifts that the DCT had. Thanks.

Hi there Gene! They definitely take some getting used to- if it’s a dedicated daily driver and you like a more calm ride- I would definitely say to think about the other seats. I couldn’t pass these up as far as the look/form factor - but if I wanted to treat this more like a baby M5- I think I’d opt for the other ones

Got PPF for front! It’s a pain because I’m the only one who washes it now - other than that not so bad!

This or m2c in terms of performance and fun? I have tried the sound system on my friend’s m2 and It really kicked ass this new gen 3 series G in terms of quality and volume. Pretty sure they are not using same speakers (I owned the latest m340i).

I personally like a longer car/M3’s in general however the m2 is an amazing platform. The interiors of those cars are a bit lower on the quality side compared to the M3/4 IMO but if that doesn’t bother you and you want a smaller chassis I’d say go for it

The sound quality definitely could be better. The surround sound is nice it’s a good thing we can turn it off. They should’ve had a bowers and Wilkins option or something.

I would definitely say so! The chassis is super well balanced so I think it would be the ultimate 4 seasons daily. If I can find some snows I might put my g80 on winter duty haha

Hey Autumn! I would definitely say that they will be fine no matter what- however the daily comfortability might be a bother with the bolsters only being slightly adjustable. If it wasn’t for the cool factor I would definitely consider the standard seats!

I thought I saw another review video that mentioned it's not an option, and I don't see "adaptive cruise control" listed as one of the options on the BMW M3 website, although there are some other similar sounding options under their Driver Package so maybe it goes by a different name?

I wish they had the handbrake on the Manual, RaceChip dyno'd the Base M3 manual 533WHP @AutoTopNL Channel on his car went to RaceChip & RaceChip Channel showed that Competition Stock Measured 534WHP/494LB-FT, AutotopNL didnt mention the LB-FT on the base M3. I will get the M3 Manual and change the badging to the M3 Competition and Seat Belts, lol.

Two things are stopping me from getting the M3: 1- I want manual transmission in the Competition. 2: I can't get past the ridiculous front end. So a new M3 isn't in my future unless both of those issues are addressed.

People, do not order a bmw. Buy one on the lot, if they have any. I placed my order in May2021. The vehicle has been sitting in the West Coast VDC Pt Hueneme for 3 months and 1 week because they can’t get parts! My dealer or Genius have no clue when parts will arrive or I will get the car.I am going to walk away if no car 10/1/21.
