    If by saying "those who follow THIS" you mean Muslims in general than I want to clarify to you that this practice is not taught in Islam. It's something that that sect has adopted on it's own. I live in Pakistan and never once in my life i have come across this or heard about it from anyone. Sunni and Shia are two main sects in Muslims with some sub-sects. Sunnis don't do this AT ALL in all sects and i haven't heard of it from any shia friend too. Maybe this sub sect of shia exists only in India or idk. Long story short,this act is not something that's preached in religion and it's something that most Muslims like 99% don't do it.

The worst part is, I remember the pain still and when i actually confronted my mother 2-3 years ago about this, it sucked that she herself was very uneducated about this and didnt know the implications of this practice. A woman used to perform circumcision in Medina. The Prophet (PUBH) said to her: Do not cut severely😔 as that is better for a woman and more desirable for a husband. - Abu Dawud 43:499 (Sahih) Circumcision is a law for men and a preservation of honor for women😔😢. - Hanbal 5:75 (Sahih/Disputed)

    What were the health implications of this practice?

  • @oops6661

    @oops6661

    Implications can include complications during childbirth, anaemia, non-draining of menstrual blood, the formation of cysts and abscesses, keloid scar formation, damage to the urethra resulting in urinary incontinence, dyspareunia (painful sexual intercourse), sexual dysfunction, hypersensitivity of the genital area, infections and increased risk of HIV. Not to forget, mental health issues like long-term depression, anxiety and serious trust issues due to undergoing horrific pain in early childhood by trusted elders.

    Wenn es richtig und hygienisch gemacht wird (z.B. im Spital von Ärzten), keine. Das Problem ist aber, dass viele Beschneidungen nicht von Ärzten und unter unhygienischen Bedingungen durchgeführt werden. Dabei erhalten die Mädchen keine Spritze. Während der Beschneidung müssen sie von mindestens zwei Personen festgehalten werden, weil sie sich aufgrund der extremen Schmerzen bewegen, was dann dazu führen kann, dass die Beschneiderin daneben schmeidet, was dann Komplikationen verursacht.

    This happens in today’s day and age? I don’t even know how to react to this. Being a Shia Muslim, I cannot even imagine any muslim doing this. Why is nobody taking action against these Bohra child abusers. God, Islam or any religion do NOT allow this.

    This female Circumcisions or Genital mutilation are also found in pre Islamic Egyptian Female Mummies so this is East African Nubian culture which influenced into shafi madhab school and Egyptian Fatimid Shia islamili schools by scholars from that culture and even it's also found among Ethiopian orthodox Christians and Jews communities from east Africa

    Women I applaud your courage 👏👏♀️, please increase awareness about FGM, more than women, the men and awful patriarchal mindset of treatment of women as loyal, subservient objects without any agency of their own.. forever dominated by men. Men please enable women in your home to understand and resist this ruthless act on small girls. It's disgustingly antihuman☹️😪

    Hope people know that this is not a Shia Ithanashari sect but BOHRA's are an independent sect (72 sects of Muslims) with their own rituals, so please be mindful to not associate other Muslims (eg.Khoja/Sayed Shias) with this barbaric and messed up act. We Shia's condemn it, deeply and will fight for these women's rights.
