FIRST FREE FLIGHT AND FIRST HUNT WITH MY PASSAGE RED-TAILED HAWK
FIRST FREE FLIGHT AND FIRST HUNT WITH MY PASSAGE RED-TAILED HAWK
Join me as I attempt a first free flight and hunt with my trapped passaged red-tailed hawk i'm using for this falconry season.
Thanks for watching our falconry adventures and make sure to check out my other videos as I have lots of how to videos on falconry (i.e. how to trap a hawk, how to train a hawk for falconry, how to build a giant hood, how to trade off and many more) We are also working toward "going live" on some hunts so you can join us and see what falconry is all about.
A falconry license is required to own/hunt a native hawk in Ontario.
Contact Ontario hawking club for more information.
I'm in my forth year of falconry and I'm always learning so please check with your sponsor if you have any questions.

Thanks
What a great bird. She moved along quick.
Cool, can't wait to see your future game hawking videos.😎📹
Gorgeous bird you have. Red Tails occasionally hang out in my apt complex, but they dont prey on squirrels. They go after sparrows and cardinals, etc. You can always tell when one is around because the squirrels get real quiet and don't move much. :-)
Brilliant stuff she's a quick learner 👌😁. could you do another catch and cook video

Love it!
Awesome
Nice job 🥰
Just wow! I am flying my bird on the outdoor zip line for the first time later today. How long is your zip line? I have a big backyard so can run it quite a distance.

Mine is about 100'
Hi great video! I was curious, what type of line do you use on your cream e? I’ve been trying to find the proper line but have had no luck
@ACRfalconry

For the leash part I use paracord and for the 100' line I use 1/4" poly rope. Attach the leash to a welded ring

@ACR Falconry thanks for answering!! I have another question: Didn't the inspector give you a hard time for having those wooden post parallel to the ground in your mews? Thanks for your time!!!!

No
Are you using telemetry for free flight or hunting? If so, which brand and model number? Thank you for all your efforts.
@ACRfalconry

I don't use telemetry on my red tailed hawks.

@@ACRfalconry Thanks for the reply. May I ask why? I've seen several red tails take off from their handlers last year while hunting and several apprentices have lost their red tails this year. Thank you for advice.

No real reason other than I find RT at the right weight don't go to far from me and I can find them with the sound from the bells. It probably wouldn't hurt to use one if you had it.
