I did the trim flight on my 230 s this morning. I just held back elevator to keep it in position as it wanted to go forward and hovered for about a minute, landed , came out of trim flight lifted off and it was hands off rock solid stable. It totally worked. Now for the 200 sr x. Thank you.

Glad to see this video up! I'm really diggin my 230 S and I see this heli leading a lot of pilots into larger helis by next summer! Also way to keep the video casual! +R3L72 made a very valid point! Seeing is believing haha. As a HobbyTown employee I see first hand how people pay more for the product they recognize or "trust" more than the in-house brands. We support them both just as well in the store, but the online and video tutorial support is lacking for many companies that are marketing the younger or novice/intermediate customer. Keep it up with great products and support!

I have Blade 230S V2 and there should be not need for any trim set up providing that you have followed the BNF instructions to the Fullest. When I bought mine only last week I did get some tail wag , I did not know what was wrong. The 230S V2 has a AS3X receiver with built in GYRO to make it stable . I would advise that after radio set up and placing the battery into the Heli , place onto a flat surface and leave for between 10 to 15 seconds before proceeding to take off This way the Gyro built into the Model is given a chance to settle from there it should be very stable.

After you competed your trim flight, I noticed that you didn't reboot the heli and Tx, is that not necessary? I got me 230s about a week ago and have been practicing just holding it steady. I'm ready to do the trim flight, I think. Thanks, BTW, nice video.

As fairly new to the world of RC.....the DX6 manual assumes a level of knowledge of RC operation that the novice user just will not have.....most inputs and parameter settings such as dual rates and expos , channel mixes etc... mean nothing without a basic grounding in RC concepts, and so for a beginner like me, most of the manual makes little sense.....this video is helpful , however, I know a lot of us heli beginners would really appreciate HH creating a video, showing the step by step entering of all parameter settings on a Spektrum radio for a 200 S and 230 S BNF helis...( I own both ) Be sure to show all the inputting from the very start to the end of the programming........the model naming is the easiest part , but after that it starts getting tricky....so something with more detail on navigating the inputting of the settings......I found this video helpful..but for more intermediate to advanced RC'ers.....I finally became frustrated and just downloaded the file from the Spektrum site, however, nothing is really learned in doing it this way and many models are not available on the site.......on behalf of all of the beginners.., thanks....

+Paul Hoggett There's a lot of variables to consider with that. You want to do the trim flight, place your battery in the recommended position, then fine tune your trims.

+james tremain The trim flight teaches the helicopter what "center" or "level" is. Since there is no gps to hold it, it sets those trims to help you as much as possible.

I always thought trimming was a manual job. It certainly was with my MSRX from what I remember. Trimming itself sounds great, but how does the heli know? Does the 230s have gps or something?

The "trim flight" procedure you describe is confusing. I'm assuming you are not doing that adjustment at 2:45 with the heli in flight...certainly not with the course stick movements you demonstrate. Also you did not explain what was the 'drift tendency' of the heli that prompted you to make that particular adjustment. Can I assume your heli was banking/turning to the right & backing up? In calm conditions using the Tx trim levers to "step trim" the odd tendencies of a heli in flight might be a better solution. Once that is correctly accomplished the heli linkage can be mechanically adjusted to the exact (corrected) trim positions with sticks centered. You may have to use a 'digital (rotor) pitch gauge' to assist in accurate adjustment of the linkage.

Tell them how weak the main frame is when you hard fly even if you do loops or rolls or a hard turn the back of the main frame where the tail boom slides into the back will brake and then brake the top of you main blade frame and want to fly off where it wants to but I have enough experience that I got mine landed but I took it back and the company told me I crashed mine nope sure didn’t my main blades and my tail rotor blades and the slash plate and everything that works the main blades did t have a scratch on them or anything and my body still clean and in one pice with no scratches or nothing on it or my skid plate on my landing gear was stun in tack not bent or broken and they said I crashed it yea right so I got the update main frame so if you buy this helicopter please before you leave the store buy the aluminum main frame please or you will be like me and it will bust in mid air and then your out of a helicopter and I been flying helicopter’s since I was 16 years old and now I’m 45 years old I have a ton of experience or I would’ve never landed my helicopter when it broke trust me the main frame can’t take a lot of stress I only had it a week before it broke in mid air I think it took about six hard flights and then it broke in mid air
