Undiscouraged by the last few failed attempts, my teacher, wife and I went fishing together again. This time we chose a reliable river, that we visited many times before. There were some remnants of snow, so I was skeptical at the first, thinking that it may still be too cold for fishing in Hokkaido. The river was also a bit cloudy. Nevertheless, we gave it a shot and got blessed with a good number of white spotted chars. It was such a joy to finally encounter fish, after so many long, winter months!
