I do agree I don't think that we could even begin to understand Barry's pain, he spent their entire life with them growing up, working, touring, for most of his life they were always by his side and now he is alone. I know he has family and friends around him to help but when you lose a lifelong companion or multiple as he has it's even harder to continue moving forward without them

I'm 70 - growing up in a poor neighborhood in the 60's I had friends of many colors. We weren't afraid to sing along, dance to all kinds of music - rock, soul, doo wop... We even called each other brother, sister. Today, evil forces have us segmented, divided and filled with hate. Unite and lets all get Too Much Heaven. God Bless.

Yes Pam they lived in the next road to us there in Manchester, Maurice n rob used to swing round the lampost laughing n poor Barry had to try n stop them❤, he's a good big brother but they were so fun and ,I wish I had walked back down that street, so near yet so far. They were very sweet and Maurice very chatty. Love the boys and how them boys became the best in the world. Love it. We massively in love them .but no was for me. Soon we go to see jive talking who worked with the Gibb brother s to try n learn to copy Barry's beautiful voice, n we cannot wait .we wanted to see them real. N just didn't get the chance. The Brothers Gibb ...... Professionally known as 'The Bee Gees.' They wrote ALL of their songs! Born on the Isle of Man to English parents, the Gibb brothers lived in England, then moved to Australia. (1) Maurice - pronounced Morris (on the right-short hair ) While on his way to surgery for his intestines, he had a heart attack, yet the doctors operated anyway. (I heard Barry say this on a video.) He was in the hospital for a few days! Maurice passed in 2003, at the age of 53. (2) Robin (on the left-long hair) passed in 2012 from cancer, at the age of 62. He and Barry complimented each other with their voices. Robin and Maurice were fraternal twins. (3) Andy, (not pictured) the youngest brother, had his own successful career. He passed in 1988, at the age of 30, from inflammation of the muscles around his heart. He and Barry could had passed as twins, even though he was 12 yrs younger than Barry. The 3 brothers were also married and had children. (4) Barry (in the middle) said, "I am the last man standing." Barry is the eldest of the brothers. On September 1, 2021, he and his wife, Linda will celebrate their 51st wedding anniversary, which is also Barry's 75th birthday. They have 5 adult children, and 7 grandchildren (some reports say 8.) The Bee Gees have sold over 220 million records worldwide (probably more by now.) They were also writers for other musical artists. On several videos, Barry and Maurice said they liked R & B music. He liked the sounds of the lead singers of the Stylistics and the Delfonics. Also Frankie Vallie and the Four Seasons, and the Beach Boys. Their father, also a musician, liked the music of the Mills Brothers. On a side note, their sister, Lesley is the first born. She was 76, January, 2021. She lives a quiet life with her family. She is the 'Queen Bee.' The proceeds from that song was given to UNICEF. Listen to: Staying Alive (you'll like the beginning strut) --- How Deep Is Your Love ----- You Win Again --- Emotion (a song written for Samantha Sang) Destiny's Child covered 'Emotion. Their version has too much drama. -- You Should Be Dancing: (silver outfits) Their brother Andy joins them on stage to sing this song. Closer Than Close (sang by Maurice: my absolute favorite!) --- ONE --- Our Love (Don't Throw It All Away) The The horns, violins, their beautiful voices and harmony! ❌Sex ❌Drugs ❌Profanity ❌Nudity 💯Harmony 💯Love

You've just entered into a rabbit hole - and it's DEEP, my Friend... These three Musical Geniuses gave us close to 50 years of Pure Magic - and Sir Barry Gibb (the guy in the middle, doing lead vocals on this track...) is still going strong, his latest release "Greenfields" (Jan. 2021...) another Masterpiece. "STAYIN' LIVE", "JIVE TALKING", "FANNY BE TENDER" (WITH MY LOVE), "NIGHTS ON BROADWAY", "I STARTED A JOKE", "ONE", "NIGHT FEVER", "LIVING EYES", "MASSACHUSETTS", "ALONE", and "FOR WHOM THE BELL TOLLS" are but a few of their tracks... The brothers started harmonizing (and composing...) at the ages of 6 (twins Robin & Maurice...) and 9 (Barry...) - not knowing anything about how to read musical notes and scales.

My favorite group! They also wrote hit songs for other people. All three of them could sing lead. Gorgeous 3 part harmonies, being brothers made it sound so good. Barry or Robin usually sang lead. Sometimes they sang lead together and it sounded like one voice. Maurice had a beautiful voice too. He did sing lead on some songs. But usually left lead to Barry and Robin. Maurice could play many instruments, he was very talented. They wrote so many great songs!

Brother Andy was so much like Barry, looked alike and sounded very much like Barry as well. He had a very successful carrier as a solo artist but unfortunately he passed at the early age of 30. He is highly missed as is his brothers Morris & Robin.

Ok young man, I love your reactions, and can I tell you i'm an older Australian lady and used to watch the Bee Gees on a show called Bandstand when I was a very young girl, and the twins were only about 10 or 11 years old, and Barry was a few years older :) they are the soundtrack of my life :)... Keep up the good work :)

It's like they invented harmony. Live band, no auto tune, no computerized voice enhancement and one mic for all three of them. Back then (1979). singing was just pure, raw talent. By the date of this recording, the BeeGees had already been singing together professionally for 21 years when Barry was 12 years old and the twins were just 9. All of the Gibb brothers including little brother, Andy, could sing in that amazing falsetto voice. But Barry was the master. He was able to exorcise more control over it. The Gibbs were, in my opinion, the most multi-talented families in music history. They wrote their own songs as well as writing songs for many other musical greats. This song was included on a compilation album to benefit UNICEF. There were many artists who recorded songs on the album, but the BeeGees gave all the royalties from this song in any form. In, at that time, an unprecedented move, they also gave UNICEF the publishing rights to Too Much Heaven. To date, Too Much Heaven has raised over 11 million dollars for UNICEF. In 1967, they wrote a song called To Love Somebody which appeared on their third album titled BeeGees 1st, but their first internationally, as the first two albums were only released in Australia. BeeGees 1st was released in July '67. Otis Redding was set to record To Love Somebody on his next album. Sadly, Otis was killed in a plane crash, Dec 10,1967. I thought for the longest time that they didn't record it themselves until after the death of Otis Redding. Their brother Andy Gibb had a very successful solo career as well until his death on March 10,1988. Just 5 days after turning 30. Andy had developed myocarditis, inflammation of the heart, which was brought on by a viral infection While most people recover from myocarditis, Andy's body was unable to fight the infection due to his history of drug use. Soo sad! The 1st time I heard this song, I was 15 years old. I was sitting on the floor in our living room. They sang with so much emotion that I had tears running down my face. It didn't hurt that before this I found out that Barry and I shared the same birthday, me in 1963 and him in 1946. While I was crying, my daddy came in and told me to knock it off or he'd change the channel. He was mean.

ALL the proceeds from this song then and now went to Unicef - now at over 10 million. The Bee Gee's were always very into charitable causes including annual diabetes events. They tried to get all other groups to do the same about that time but only ABBA did. The Bee Gees will have my ❤ forever! They have had since I was 13...I'm 64 now. 😊

Bee Gees are incomparable and legends. They were featured in the Book of Guiness as the most successful songwriters, composers and singers. Nobody can surpass them in terms of tunes and tones. Recently, Sir Barry Gibb the only surviving member was knighted by King Charles for their contribution to music. The twins Maurice and Robin are very talented and so their younger brother Andy. They are all handsome and down to earth.

Thank you so very much young man for giving a for real observation about this song. What really people unfortunately notices is their super, super beautiful voices and the color of their skin. They hardly pay attention to the sounds of the musical instruments being played and what's worse, the lyrics. One of the saddest things that a person can do is not pay attention to the words of a very beautiful love song that is being played. Every single aspect of a song is important. Especially the part that tells you what is going on , what is happening and what one's going through. But anyway young man, you were asking of another song sung by the Bee Gees. Well how about "How deep is your love"? In the movie "Saturday Night Fever" that was released December the 14th, 1977. You know with John Travolta and all of them. The Disco Era. They played a lot of songs sung by the Bee Gees. Oh well, thanks again.

The harmonies are perfect - only possible with brothers who have been singing since childhood. They grew up in my town - singing all their lives. Their first gig was as kids, singing at the local speedway during the breaks in races. Their mother would drive them around on the back of a truck, and they'd sit in the back singing. Mother would take a bucket around the track, and people would throw money . One night a local disc jockey heard them, and made them an offer to sing on the radio. His name was Bill Gates, they were the Brothers Gibb.....so the name Bee Gees was born. The rest is history !

What's amazing is they said they were fans of 2 groups (from Philadelphia, PA) whose lead singers had falsetto voices. The Stylistics and the Delfonics. They also liked the voice of Frankie Vallie, lead singer of the Four Seasons. Frankie Vallie sang 'Grease Is The Word.' I'm quite sure there are groups who came before the lead singers of the Philly groups. Each generation adds a bit more style and uniqueness to the falsetto voice.

@@brendawilson8208 - Hi Brenda. If you go back to the 50's there were a lot of great "doo wop" groups and they employed falsetto too, the Cadillacs, Clovers, Diamonds and a favorite of mine, The Coasters with their funny lyrics. I loved Frankie Lymon too. Even some of the singers in the 30's and 40's! The Bee Gees were also big fans of the Mills Brothers! The Bee Gees didn't see race when they loved someone's music. Unfortunately a lot of the backlash against their R&B (incorrectly labelled "disco") era was not necessarily against them but bigoted backlash against the disco craze that was so dominant that it became an overly commercialized joke and that type of music that was predominately played in black and gay clubs. It must be EVIL!!!! LOL. In addition, if someone is amazingly successful and ubiquitous, there will be haters who have to knock them down. They never understood what hit them or why. As Robin said, you can dance to all types of music but that doesn't make it "disco". Cheers. :)

The 1960s and 1970s was truly the era of rock music and R&B music, and both of those styles of music of course got their roots out of blues and gospel music. I don't know if you've heard but if you listen to many people they say that the 1950s was the birth of rock and roll but they're wrong. I'll give you the true birth of rock and roll was in the 30s and 40s and it was mostly in the very beginning black women who were the singers and players of the rock and roll music and one of my favorites and one of the major icons of that time is wonderful black lady who her Roots began in gospel and of course blues but her name is Miss Rosetta Tharp. If you look her up you'll find she's got a lot of great music she's also one of the very first people to ever play an electric guitar because of course she was around when the guy invented the electric guitar and they both were in the same era and they both had great success but you'll forgive me but at this moment I can't quite remember his name I do know he had an electric guitar named after him and I can't think of the name of it right now. Just a little history to give you a possible another source of some interesting and excellent music.
