First EVER 2 stroke powered Harley-Davidson(Engine Swap)
Ойын-сауық
We just built the craziest Harley-Davidson with a 2 stroke dirt bike engine! The 2 stroke engine we used is not a normal engine, it's out of the legendary Honda CR500! The Honda CR500 is one of the fastest dirt bikes ever! This might be the fastest Harley-Davidson 883R ever!

My 1968 XLCH could be difficult to start when warm. Cold, it was 1 to 3 kicks. Often just one. A tap on the starter button and my '88 XL 883 ant it always started. Rattles apart? On my '68 the mirror fell off. It was a tiny bicycle unit just to comply with the law. Nothing ever fell off the newer one. And I commuted to work on them, year around in Southern California.

Have a 1979 harley davidson flh and a 1993 Electra glide classic . They have been the most durable and reliable bikes I have ever owned. The 1979 has 86,000 miles and the 1993 has almost 120,000 . plus older Harley Davidson's are simple easy to work on and rebuildable if need be . I don't get why people say Harleys are not reliable, obviously they have never owned one.

Yeah, watching the other guys try to kick it, they clearly haven't been tutored in the very particular big-bore 2-stroke starting ritual. Kicking it a lot of times doesn't count for anything - you have to get the piston to the right place, reset the starter back to the top, and then put everything you have into that one kick. If it doesn't work you do that again. What they were doing, you can get away with on a 250, but it doesn't cut the mustard on 400cc+

That highschool kid with a slipper on showed you guys how to start a big motor! Float level on the 500 is to high. 5 plugs in one day is not normal 2 stroke stuff either. You need to correct the float level before you do anything.

@@nonebiz2132 The problem was not the going of a consistent speed, rather, it was running just near 10,000 rpm for who knows how long. Who's to say a seal didn't give way causing a massive vacumm leak just before catastrophe? Sure, you'll get some extra oily suit build up in the pipe, but with a street bike where peak performance isn't needed throughout the entire ride, that's hardly an Issue. Get your jetting, timing right, and you'll be sailing low rpms for years to come.
You have to use your entire body weight and kick it over like a real boy.
Those cr500's are terrifying on a pa trail. In a field they are a blast
My brain is more comfortable with you saying “Roden” (@5:43) than when you say “drive”. 🤣
That vrod sounds like it had a slipping clutch

Daniel Lunsford I was about to say that would of been a good one to run a modded 1200 sportster with if anything 😂
This video was painful to watch. Non two stroke guys blaming two stroke for their incompetence.

@@ForTheOmnissiah it is sort of imcopidense but everyone can learn it is a fact that a Part of driving a 2stroke is to know how to tune The carb and knowing how the bike runs

No wonder they had to change spark plugs so many times they the engine has so much more in it than what they was using
You guys are great... just a tip, since it's a 500, It might have pressure release, and also dont just kick it. Gota find that top center and built pressure. And gas leaking out carburetor... a 30.00 dollar rebuild kit just fixed my xr650, its was dumping gas to, either main jet, maybe the float... could be a lil gumbed up... but you guys are 2 cool. Love the videos. God bless America
Ok now this time, put a V-4 engine in a Harley frame.
11:01 That motor mount looks cracked too!
I wanna see a busa engine in one of these builds

Like putting a RR merlin engine in a fiat 500.
I had a kaw kx500. Man seeing you kick over that bike brings me back. That thing was a monster to try and kick over
