FIRST Drive of my LS-Swapped Jaguar XJ-S!
Ғылым және технология
I was hoping to have finished the exhaust system in time for this day, but unfortunately I ran out of time! I had to get this thing to the bare minimum for driving a few miles down the road to my new house.

First flights are always memorable! Congratulations buddy! You should stick a Marantz in the dash.
All that hard work comes to a culmination with that ear-to-ear smile when you gave her the juice! What a project - well done!
E P I C !!! 😁 I have been involved in and around car restoration my entire life, born into it. What you have done in the time period you did it in, stuffed into that TINY garage is very impressive. You documented and put it out there, these XJS videos will serve as an inspiration to many, well done, two thumbs up!
“And hast thou slain the Jaguar? Come to my arms, my beamish boy! O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!” He chortled in his joy.
Your smile says a million words man! Great job!
Pretty stunning accomplishment since this was your first trans rebuilt and many other firsts. On the other hand, you've helped increase the value for the 1990 XJ-S Classic Collection models as well by taking one of them of the market forever.
The sweetest sounding Jaguar in the world. Congrats!
The best sound that car ever made.
This is great! It reminds me of the first time I started my 1969 roadrunner after blueprinting, hopping up and rebuilding the engine. First start up was with open Headman Headers. Loud!!!! The satisfaction is memorable and something that will never be forgotten. The Jag sounds so damn sweet!! You will never forget this moment. Congratulations! I am clapping!
So, so good! Big congrats on this. Your cheeky little smile at 07:22 said it all. Well done mate !
Oh, yeah! The sweet sound and feel of success! What a wonderful project! Please enjoy many, happy road trips with YOUR creation.
Thank you for taking us along, that was an amazing trip. What a cool car. That is a great success. What a skill dude! 👏 WOW 👌
You really made this conversion look simple. Just an amazing job. I can't imagine doing this type of project myself.
NICE!!! Great job man! Congratulations!
Congratulations on your accomplishment and all the hard work that went into it, enjoy!
ABSOLUTELY EFFING AWESOME! ...and to think, I started following you for your vintage stereo repairs. ;-) Well done!!!!!
Sure glad to see your smiling face when you drove it the first time. Laughed when you stomped on it right out of the drive way!
Nice job. Love those jags and now even more with the LS
That’s one of my favorite jaguars. When I was a kid in my town there was a forest green one with ground effects, fender flares, wing and with a Chevy 350 swap. I thought it was awesome and I still do it. Congratulations on your build.
I am glad to see that the Jag-u-ar is now running and driving. Congratulations!! Although your self satisfaction is all you need. Can I get a soap box please? Yea, that will do. I think you should get a pair of Walker Turbo mufflers or something similar. The Flowmasters are just loud all the time and at some points it is extra loud. The Turbo mufflers are quiet, or relatively quiet when cruising and idling. When you get on the throttle, it will make good and throaty V8 sound. My feeling is that this is a luxury car and it shouldn't sound like a teenager's Camaro. I had a similar decision when I swapped a 5.0L into my midsize LTD. I got Walker turbo mufflers. I drove that car everyday and I did a bunch of road trips including with my wife. It still was capable of 14.6 second 1/4 mile times with no real modifications to the engine. So, these mufflers are not restrictive. Just not "Look at me everybody!" loud.
Great job! Looking good.
Congratulations on a great job.
Congrats man!
You’re a pretty amazing tech / mechanic. I shocked you find the time to do everything you do. Awesome.
You're a genius man! Happy for you.
Great job man!
That sounds wonderful
Aidan- watched this with Harry and Delores, we are all happy that it was a successful maiden voyage and here"s to having fun now.
Nice work!!! High five!!!
Well done THAT Man
Hey man. Met you at the vet's office. Very cool projects. Hope your cat is doing well!
thuis is just great! thank you Dr. Kannsperson for filming, and playing along.
My '94 has a 4.0l six cylinder, so I won't need a swap. But, I have enjoyed watching your struggle.
I like this Car so much, what a Sound. Grüße aus Berlin
Sounds very very close to my 67 Chevelle that had a muffler or two I’m so glad that you’ve come this far the car looks awesome and it sounds great but I’m partial to race cars, your wife has so much patience!!! I hope she made a quick recovery the lest show that I watched she was not well AnyWho Good luck with the new house And all I’ll drop a Comment on your next video!
A friend of mine did a similar swap in the late 80s with a built 350/400hp And a jag. great car good power and that jag suspension was not bad for stock.
5:50 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
That was quite a bit more complicated than re-lamping a Marantz !!! Congrats !!!
Thank you for keeping her heart beating
Oh goodie !
Good stuff! Better be a smokey burnout video soon!
Hello. I am impressed on the way you restored the XJS Jaguar with a Ls Swap. I would like to talk with you concerning the exhaust manifold for the conversion. I was having a problem on the driver side with the manifold hitting the frame wheel and steering shift. What's the best way to talk with you on the phone. Are it would be very helpful sir, if you could tell me what type of manifolds with center dump you was using for your swap. I have purchases 3 different sets and still can't find the correct manifolds to use.
you should take it apart again and do it all over - just so you really know how to do it next time
In the process of swapping a 6.0 into my 79 xjs … what did you use for the power steering lines??
I've always wanted to do something like that with a classic Jaguar. It's really great to see one done. Although, It is a Jag, so I would have to do something about that loud exhaust note. But it sounds like you already intend to address that very thing. So good job to you and congrats.👏
did you hook it up to the original transmission
Your next project should be puttin' a Chevy V8 in a Ferrari or Lambo. Now that would be cool!
Is there a way I can do this for my xj8?
Congratulations. Maybe time to think about a 🛻 pickup project...... Maybe not...
Engines, transmissions, stereos! Nice! Do you like trains too?
A bigger garage!
I got a 2010 xf I'm thinking about doing just the time in is what I'm
Nice work but I do think experiencing the V12 is better than looking at these cars' styling.
not going to do videos on redoing the interior?

All I did was clean the leather and put it back together. Didn't think it was worth a video
👍🏻😎
Good luck those old Jaguars can be money pits

Here comes that $1,000 "fine" from your homeowner's association for "excessive noise between the hours of 10:00am and 9:59am"!
@2:39 did I see smoke when you shifted it into reverse?

Sorry, I forgot. Congratulations! Doing what you've done in your garage and driveway is a big deal. And no Jaguars were harmed in the making of these videos.

Thanks! You know, I saw that in editing and that's definitely what it looks like. Reverse lights do work, though!
I'm curious what gear is in the rear of that Jaguar?

That is the issue, change the rear end ratio & put straight through pipes & the V12 will sing...Take a look at Harry's Garage KZread channel to see what he did with his XJC V12....It is incredible..

@@AHFixIt it sounded like a low gear ratio to me I could hear it when you got on a little bit engine was laboring a little bit thanks for the reply!
Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Now they even want to slow down all the gas pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime. "Bundesabgasbespaßungsverbot" in German....!!!!!!
Honestly, you took the soul out of that Jag, Red, corvette engine, white letter tires, 🤮
👍
