FIRST Drive of my LS-Swapped Jaguar XJ-S!

Ғылым және технология

I was hoping to have finished the exhaust system in time for this day, but unfortunately I ran out of time! I had to get this thing to the bare minimum for driving a few miles down the road to my new house.

E P I C !!! 😁 I have been involved in and around car restoration my entire life, born into it. What you have done in the time period you did it in, stuffed into that TINY garage is very impressive. You documented and put it out there, these XJS videos will serve as an inspiration to many, well done, two thumbs up!

Pretty stunning accomplishment since this was your first trans rebuilt and many other firsts. On the other hand, you've helped increase the value for the 1990 XJ-S Classic Collection models as well by taking one of them of the market forever.

This is great! It reminds me of the first time I started my 1969 roadrunner after blueprinting, hopping up and rebuilding the engine. First start up was with open Headman Headers. Loud!!!! The satisfaction is memorable and something that will never be forgotten. The Jag sounds so damn sweet!! You will never forget this moment. Congratulations! I am clapping!

That’s one of my favorite jaguars. When I was a kid in my town there was a forest green one with ground effects, fender flares, wing and with a Chevy 350 swap. I thought it was awesome and I still do it. Congratulations on your build.

I am glad to see that the Jag-u-ar is now running and driving. Congratulations!! Although your self satisfaction is all you need. Can I get a soap box please? Yea, that will do. I think you should get a pair of Walker Turbo mufflers or something similar. The Flowmasters are just loud all the time and at some points it is extra loud. The Turbo mufflers are quiet, or relatively quiet when cruising and idling. When you get on the throttle, it will make good and throaty V8 sound. My feeling is that this is a luxury car and it shouldn't sound like a teenager's Camaro. I had a similar decision when I swapped a 5.0L into my midsize LTD. I got Walker turbo mufflers. I drove that car everyday and I did a bunch of road trips including with my wife. It still was capable of 14.6 second 1/4 mile times with no real modifications to the engine. So, these mufflers are not restrictive. Just not "Look at me everybody!" loud.

Hello. I am impressed on the way you restored the XJS Jaguar with a Ls Swap. I would like to talk with you concerning the exhaust manifold for the conversion. I was having a problem on the driver side with the manifold hitting the frame wheel and steering shift. What's the best way to talk with you on the phone. Are it would be very helpful sir, if you could tell me what type of manifolds with center dump you was using for your swap. I have purchases 3 different sets and still can't find the correct manifolds to use.

I've always wanted to do something like that with a classic Jaguar. It's really great to see one done. Although, It is a Jag, so I would have to do something about that loud exhaust note. But it sounds like you already intend to address that very thing. So good job to you and congrats.👏

Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Now they even want to slow down all the gas pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime. "Bundesabgasbespaßungsverbot" in German....!!!!!!
