Not sure what truck he was driving but the Allison transmission is the most refined and most proven of any HD transmission on the market

+Jeremy Kautz Reliable yes, refined no. Ram has their stuff together on the automatic being smooth as silk.

But Dodge Ram has lots of recalls and have safety issues with the RAMS

Excellent review, Sam, and exceptionally smooth camera work. I'm really hoping GM will incorporate blind spot warning soon; as they have in their full size SUV line. Thanks for the observed MPG feedback also.

That makes no sense... Anyone who knows anything about.HD trucks knows the Allison is the best, most confident transmission. Maybe drive the others again and correct your statement.

+dnelzy303 that is true but the motor that it is connected to in my opinion is under powered. the engine is not using the transmission to its fullest potential

This truck seems to hit the sweet spot in terms of horsepower and torque. I don't need 1,000 pounds of torque to pull a 6400# 23' trailer. Prices now seem pretty decent on the used market. Can anyone who has owned one comment on any known issues I should look for? Thanks.

+Johnny “Braveheart” Murdock From what I know the GMC has more bells and whistles but the engines and frames are virtually the same.

No push button transmission setting. That stick on the column is way past its time GM.

Louie Lamoore Trucks are the last vehicle to have the option of a middle seat and column shift (who wants to give a hand job when shifting gears? except phallic egotistical douchbags). For the push button start, I don’t need more buttons in my life i got enough buttons on my tv remote. Trucks have your momas nostalgic touch with the fact you can seat 6 just like the good old days. just look must trucks are crew cab, 30 years ago nearly all trucks were single cabs, they were built to haul junk, not fat ass diabetic kids to football practice.

You comparing Ford to GMC or GM? Ford is great, I love Ford and will also be a fan but I prefer GMC. They just look better.

I sold my 2006 Silverado Duramax, bought a 2011 Ford F-250 what a mistake, the fords doors rattled, it was a nice looking truck, but honestly, no quality in the ford.
