Such an inspirational couple!

There was one good thing to come out of the pandemic and that was our introduction to Stephen’s loving, funny wife, Evie. Her spontaneous laughter was often more infectious than an entire studio audience, sitting in a chair off on side. It’s always delightful when she shows up for the first drafts. Their mutual respect and appreciation of each other’s sense of humor is heartwarming.

The mockery absolutely does help. Evie is a treasure.

I wanna see Evie do one of those flipped episodes where she gets behind the desk to interview Colbert, and gets to grill him with the questionaire. I think it could be hilarious and insightful.

Agreed, except for the technicality that she wasn’t so much ‘laughing’ but rather ‘GIGGLING’!!!

I wanted to say that they are such a class act together, but it is clearly no act - even better!

I love the genuine look of disgruntlement Evie gives when Stephen suggests that she ever regrets marrying him. They have a very lovely marriage, it seems.

yes, i love how she says "i don't have any lines or any pressure.." That's probably bc Stephen is too afraid to give her any! she's the one putting pressure on him (only cuz he cares about her being happy). I totally know how Stephen feels. Whenever my wife comes by my work , I get nervous because I suddenly realize my true boss is here.

Evie needs to be on the show more regularly. I don't really care what she does on it, whether it's her impersonation of an Andy Richter or Geoff Peterson, or even if she just laughs at Stephen or his jokes from the couch, or something else entirely, we need more Evelyn McGee-Colbert!

This is one of the best I’ve seen, the cards were all funny and Stephen seemed more relaxed and casual with Evie. There are a few silver linings from this pandemic, and seeing them together is definitely one of them❤️

Evie, when I see that you will be on the show I give a thumbs-up for the video before it even loads. You are a joyous person who can show us how to feel like life is still worth living. Don't ever use a script...you are genuine juat as you are. Stephen, your eyes light up whenever Evie comes on. Priceless!

And the fun part is that you can actually see a real difference between when he is "acting" and when he is talking with or about her. He becomes so genuine with his body language.

I love how they love each other so much. Not everyone has that.

Stephen and Evie have a natural unforced easy emotional affinity between them. They have great chemistry.

Note to self: Do NOT eat the cream-filled chocolate bunnies.

It’s always a treat when Evie’s on. And she’s rocking that jacket and skirt combo!

Stephen and Evie's magic is what happens when two amazing people bring out the best in each other.

Evie's face 5:51 tho 😭 you know that woman has never regretted marrying that man a day in her life and was shocked when Stephen first said that!

I'm a pretty grumpy person in general but I swear I can't help but smile whenever these two are together on stage. What an authenticly wonderful couple.

Is there anyone more delightful than Evie? Edit: I've read once more through ALL of the comments (as I do whenever she's on), and she's still the only guest on the show who gets nothing but VERY positive reviews. Always. Not surprised, either, she is a true delight!

I love this so much, Evie always puts a smile on my face! Also y'all should try reversing the roles for a holiday and have Evie read the cards to Steve, I'd love to see how he reacts when he doesn't know the punchline that's coming.

Yay! Evie!!! One of the only good things to come out of the Rona, was seeing so much of Evie. ❤️❤️ Thank you for sharing this wonderful human with the world.

She's very natural when she appears. It's always great to see a couple that's been married for as long as they have. Too many people give up just because marriage isn't always perfect. We need to stop making everything about "things". Like they said, they were poor and so they did free things for their dates. Life is supposed to be about the people we share it with, not the material possessions that we can fill it up with. Happy Easter/Passover/Ramadan everyone!

I'm not sure I would call them a "Hollywood couple." They've only lived in New York their entire married life. And they both come from the world of stage acting, not film. If anything, they are a Broadway couple.
