I was aboard the Indy A-Div AC&R Shop(Yeah ships company !!!). Made 2 Med Cruises and 1 Caribbean to St Thomas Virgin Islands for 3 days. You could see the Anchor on the bottom the water was so clear. Want Scuba Diving for 1 awsome day. Went through a storm so bad waves were breaking over the flight deck. Had 1 A7 on its side Port forward, and Helo on its side on forward Starboard Elevator. We also lost 50+ feet forward catwalk on each side. The deck/floor in forward 2nd con was bowed the power of the waves was so powerful. I can still hear the sounds of the waves hitting the ship and the slow roll's and the vibration of the waves hitting the ship... BOOOM... SHUTTERING... VIBRATION through the ship !!! I can still hear the Jets n cats taking off and the arresting cables spinning out and slapping the deck. In AC&R Shop and having keys to the bake shop made life real good :) Shhh ;) FOOD WAS... THE BEST EVER ANYWHERE !!! When your in... all you want is out... biggest mistake of my life... was getting out !!! If your in STAY IN !!! INDY WAS THE BEST TIME OF MY LIFE !!! RIP INDY...

#quarantine squad actually things changed big time! The recruiters were taking way too long I had waited almost a year at the time of that comment so I joined the army and I love it and have met a lot of great people so far!

not mentioned in this vid is making friends with people from supply, engineering, or any department in general. People of different rates make the deployment worth while and it’s good to network while stuck on a ship for months.

It’s really nice to see someone from my hometown. I’m from Baltimore as well. I’m in the process of joining the navy. I’m bout to leave for bootcamp soon. I can’t wait to be apart of the navy.

great video im getting my orders in like a week or 2 from my a school and graduating in a month, so if im stationed on a ship i will def be using this advice.

First of all i didnt get stationed on a ship lol i was on a shore base in italy my entire time so i was never deployed so this video didnt end up being tht useful to me. I also only did a 4 year contract so i have been out the navy for a year and a half now and got out honorably. The navy really set me up for a good paying job since i left becaue of the rate i choose going into the navy and i dont have any regrets joining. The job i had in the navy taught me great skills for the outside world. if you are thinking of joining good luck and do research on jobs that have good civilian transferability and u like if u dont know that u are going to stay 20 years in the navy

Best hooks ups... have a few Suppy Department buddy's that way you don't have to worry about washing your clothes, or get a good Hair cut, or get some more grubs during meal time. During my time in the Navy the best rating to be was Operation Specialist, Quarter Master, Signalmen, why? we were always the first ones off the ship upon arrival at any Port of call. Always use the Buddy system during your stay off the ship in any Port of call. Remember to obey their LAWS for which ever place you arrive at. Believe me their LAWS are not the same as the USA. Last thing you want to do is get arrested Overseas. Just have fun and be respectful...

I’m interested in joining, I appreciate your informative videos! It’s really helping me prepare mentally... but my question; how long are you on the ship for? Like is it 5 weeks straight on the ship and then 1 week on land, do they let you explore? Is the entire tour on the ship? Is it an actual submarine (under water) or is it just a ship? Are you allowed to go on deck and soak up the sun whenever you like?

Depends there is no set schedule for underway time vs time back on land. I'm a submariner going surface and yes submarines do go underwater this guy is in the surface fleet so not a sub. Depending where you go on underways or deployments you most likely can go explore but depending on your command and where you port you may have to get a liberty buddy to hang out with. So your time on a ship is entirely dependent on what rate(job) you pick. Depending on your job your first station may not be on a ship and and you may be on shore it is all dependent on your rate and what billets(open slots) are available for your rank and rate.

SuperBigSlurpee the Air Force is more intellectual and competitive branch and has better living conditions. But at the end of the day it’s your opinion on which one is your favorite.

U slow ash 😂they just cut your hair off for boot camp but you can have it a a certain length after you graduate from basic and have to keep clean shave

Yes you can have your phone but you won’t have service & that depends on where you stationed, your rank and how many port call you go too

Absolutely not you get deployed as often as your ship does for as long as you're on that ship. Now if you have a 6 yr contract depending on your rotation you can get a shore duty but no one gets special treatment whether their initial contract is for 4 or 6 yrs. For the time you are on your first ship you deploy as many times as that ship does while you're attached to that command.

Depends on the ship schedule and what is going on at each port. Sometimes you can be in port a week or something is broken and you're in port for longer or you can just be in port for a few days.
