First console my brother played - ZX Spectrum

Ойындар

Hey little one and co. In this video we talk all about the ZX Spectrum. An 8bit system that was released a few years before the Sega Master System. It was very lacking in terms of sound and graphics, but the gameplay was still fun.

If you never saw a ZX Spectrum live back in the day, you are probably one of those unlucky chaps living in the USA. Beyond those 5 million units sold there were clones aplenty, eapecially in Spain which launched a specialized 128 kB version prior to Sinclair's introduction of that toasrack model in Great Britain. The simple hardware without any special chips and tons of readily available software spawned over 100 (in)official clones around the world, especially in Eastern Europe. So the ZX Spectrum's worldwide influence can hardly be overstated.

@@firsteerr I do not know too much about those Timex machines. The Timex Sinclair T/S 2068 was a partly Spectrum-compatible computer and its improvements over the ZX Spectrum were its downfall IMHO because there was not too much software available for it.

the tape loading was a right pain but no where NEAR as painful as typing in a game from a magazine only to have it be shit and nothing like the ad ten hours down the swanny

Not a console. Technically a home computer.
