Having travelled on both European and Japanese 1st class, I can tell you this Green Car product is so much better than European first class. In terms of both comfort and atmosphere, Shinkansen Green Car is in a completely different league to most of the European trains. The only thing that European do better is the catering service onboard (which is non-existence in Japan).

you know what American Train Cos AKA Amtrak really need to step up their game it's ridiculous how much you pay for a seat that's so small that even a man of my size feels Cramped in I'm 5'6 and I weigh 150 Lbs. and I can tell you if a person that six feet tall weighing was nearly 200 Lbs. was sitting next to me, we would feel like we were on top of each other. When you're traveling for 2 or three days on a train it gets old really fast.

  • @NarasimhaDiyasena

@@ChairmanMaow when it comes to travel it’s air based. In the 1900’s the US was big on trains and if I recall has the most track laid compared to any country. However a handful of elites monopolized the tracks for freight, and the airline lobby further pushed travel from the rail to the air. Now rail almost entirely used for freight which is extremely profitable. Amtrack is the only major rail service that provides passenger travel and they have been operating at a lost, and in the last week cancelled all their long distance routes. Unless you live in the New England regions Amtrak is useless. A useful ‘high’ speed rail however is Brightline in Florida. Random fact- the length from Jacksonville to Miami is the same as Jaffna to Galle (Sri Lanka), and the distance from Cocoa Beach to Orlando is the same as Colombo to Kandy (Sri Lanka). It provides insight to what a High Speed Rail would look like in Sri Lanka (My mother’s country hence the reference) should they get their shit together. Sri Lanka and Florida are also roughly the same size, have the same population size, and the same employment size, but Florida’s GDP is $1.2 Trillion while Sri Lanka’s GDP is $80 Billion. Im gonna stop before I start going on a rant.
