Brilliant video. I’ve been brewing all grain for about 8 years now using a 3 vessel system and am now considering getting a GF. Very informative and fun vid. Thank you.

You guys did pretty well! :) You can start stirring the proteins before it starts to boil until it dissolves. Only add the hops and start the timer then. Hops and proteins react a bit at first which can cause boil-over. Also spraying water on foam helps or leaving your paddle at the top of the unit as a safeguard. Btw. you can collect warm water from the chiller to some bucket for cleaning. Good luck!

Great video guys, i have been brewing for a bit with a very familiar system. My question is I was hoping to get the Grainfather with the Wort Chiller, but I dont know what attachment to get for the sink to hose part. I am in the United States and not sure if it is different than there? Which attachment did you use for this part. Hope the question is clear enough

Great video and good to see the Grainfather process in action! I'm considering getting one to move to all grain brewing, would you recommend it to a relative beginner?

I don't have that unit, but I watched some videos and it looks very intuitive with a lot of reminders telling you what to do. Seems like you already brew (from extract?), maybe you can try partial mash already with your setup, and if you're sure brewing is fun for you, then invest in GF :)

Exactly what Jan said. It can look a lot to take on board but the guide they give and the app takes you through every step of the process!

FYI - RE pushing the filter down to grain bed: you're trying to minimise disruption to the grainbed during recirculation. If you push water unevenly to the grainbed it'll create channels for the water to run down - missing most of the grain - thereby vastly reduce mash efficiency. The top plate evenly disperses recirc flow throughout the mash. Think of it like just leaving half of your pasta in the cooking water, it's not all going to cook evenly

Must be said though, for a first brew day that was very smooth! Should be pleased with that

Hey, well done! Quick question here: was this your 1st brew with the Grainfather, or your 1st brew at all?
