How has it been? It’s been a year

My boyfriend and are moving into our first apartment in July! After watching your video I'm so relieved that I'm not the only one that super overthinks money! I've been literally trying to map out everything we will need while trying to remain on a budget. I've never actually had many expenses so that thought of moving out and acquiring all of the expenses that come along with it is terrifying!

My boyfriend of 5-6 years and I are planning/saving for our first apartment together and you gave me awesome tips. I am just like you with always having to plan everything and always being prepared but you opened my eyes to more helpful ideas that’s really going to benefit my boyfriend and I financially. I’m moving into my first one-bedroom in June and my first apartment really never felt like home to me, so I’m really excited to make this place mine!

Best tip I will give is, start buying things for your room before you move !! Like the little things being hand soap, sponges and store it under a bed, in closet, like get air fresheners, kitchen utensils get it all and worry about it less when You move

I just started the Dave Ramsey program a couple months ago while I’m still living at home and it’s helped me pay off my debt and start saving for my first apartment! I plan on moving in the next year. Coronavirus kind of pushed things back since I am furloughed from my job right now. I was hoping to move this fall.

hi!! I actually just had it stored at my parents in big tubs that I bought from Costco. I tried to plan the big stuff to arrive as close to my move-in date as possible so I didn't have to deal with storing it somewhere!

What was the total cost of everything you bought in preparation for moving if you don’t mind me asking? I’m really curious to know what is realistic! My style is very similar to yours so I imagine I’ll be buying like items. Haha

ooff. If we're being honest, probably at least $4,000 but I had NOTHING. And I bought furniture for a guest room. I also did get nicer things than probably necessary like a lot of my kitchen stuff I could have gone cheaper on. That also didn't count any of the decor which I'm slowly getting because everything is so dang expensive 😬
