Hey y’all! The vlog was late. I forgot to finalize the vlog last night (make it into one long video for upload), so that took time. But then my computer began glitching: Freezing, shutting down, etc. So yes, I am getting my new computer sooner rather than later. I decided on a Dell Inspiron. 😊 Don’t forget that I make PUBLIC (meaning everyone can see them, not just people who pledge) late vlog alerts on my Patreon page: Patreon.com/ChronicallyJaquie Just for future reference! Have a great Saturday!

What if you get like a ramp that you would use for a dog and just have it in the back of your car? I think you would just have to slide it in and out your car and then you could wheel the wheelchair in and out

As a wheelie, the one improvement I think you can make is, don’t push continually, push then coast, push then coast. This conserves energy and stops the burn in your arms. The power assist will do the coasting for you. Hope this helps. You look fab and you really remind me of my first week with a chair, I was so excited and happy to be free at last. I also loved being next to my friends not in front of them with them pushing. You can get a ramp for the car but you can also get a hoist which would be much easier to use. With the ramp you have to physically push the chair up and this can be very hard work in the heat.

I HATE being pushed, having to shout over my shoulder to talk to anyone who is pushing me, but I am totally not strong enough to push myself more than 5-10 minutes, I do worry about the weight of a push assist chair-I went out of my way to get an ultralight chair that was under 15lbs. I am so happy that my local stores have gotten those grocery carts where you face the person pushing (Caroline’s cart I think)

I have them for about 4 weeks now and l'm afraid of being in a heavy rain l can't prevent for and what would happen to the wheels? They help me so much! A few weeks ago l tried but after 5 rest - stops and 1 hour l had to turn! Needed toilet and was only 1/4 away from home! And after my wonderful wheelz l was there 6 times in 4 weeks! In former days l was there every evening if possible! Now l want to protect them. Please, help me! And: Merry Chritmass! Be blessed!

I’ve been using a wheelchair since I was about 6 and I’ve never had a pink one. Went through a long phase where I got dark colored ones. My current one is bright yellow. I’d like a lime green one or bright pink one in the future. It’s good to know that power assist wheels shouldn’t get wet. I didn’t know that, and that will probably be a feature that can help me in the future.

So glad that you all had a really great time and you love your new wheelchair. I'm thinking about getting rim covers for mine since I use mine full-time, have only had my new wheelchair and Smart Drive since May, and already tearing up paint. Lol! I went to Epkot with my family (about five years ago I believe) from Saint Louis and really enjoyed it. The dogs really put a smile on my face tonight and I got puppy therapy lastnight with a neighbor. Really miss my golden, but things will get better. Please keep us posted on your adventures with your new wheelchair. Take care and have a great rest of your weekend!

Oh Jaquie..... I am so happy for you that I cried! I was overcome with happiness in knowing that you have now opened up your life to more freedoms and possibilities! It’s such a beautiful moment when insurance comes through in such a loving and helpful way! Usually insurance is making payments for things that have already happened and pays bills for hardships and battles that somebody has to overcome. I am so overjoyed that this is an insurance payment to grant somebody a brighter future, isn’t that the most beautiful and loving gift. You will become so accustomed to your wheels, that they will feel like your own super powered legs. Enjoy the new possibilities and keep spreading your love and light.

Jaquie I am a fulltime wheelchair user who has sadly had to move to using a power chair full time but I can tell you that the one thing that you need to work on with your rolling to help with your soreness and to prevent injury is to get in a full push. You are doing very short pushing from the top of the wheels you need to do full extension pushes by reaching back by you butt and pushing full arm extension it gives you more momentum and force and does less damage to your shoulders.

So excited to see you in your new wheelchair! Congrats on your long wait to receive it. For your lifting issue, I suggest getting a lightweight dog ramp for the back of your car to wheel your chair into the back. They have plastic ramps with carpet you can pull out the back of the vehicle and attach to the bumper. It's quick and easy to do (one of my dog clients has one for their older pup). Hopefully that would help you get access to your chair even in the Florida heat....hugs and love from Minnesota

Again Jaquie, congratulations on receiving your wheelchair. I noted that you packed your Roho pump for your outing. Having had a Roho since about 1996, I have never had to add air to it once it is inflated. Occasionally, I removed the cushion from its sleeve, deflated it and cleaned it, which is easier to do when the air chambers are empty. Then I just pump it back up and I'm good to go. Truly, the Roho is a fabulous cushion, and you might find yourself taking it off of your wheelchair and putting it on a harder chair to sit and do work; it is that comfortable. Remember, when you fall flat on your nose, at least you are moving forward. ❤️❤️❤️ (note, I've been saying that for years and I am not making fun of your very positive saying. I just have a warped sense of humor).

Coming from someone who has been wheelchair dependent for almost 2 years you don't have to push so often. I think that's probably why you're losing control. But you're doing amazing! I'm so jealous that you got a custom wheelchair. I'm stuck with a regular one that makes my EDS pain much worse. Keep going girl; you got this!

Harlow literally looks like she's having the time of her life with you in your chair, I don't know if it's because she's so happy her mamas so happy or because she's going faster and it's alike a game or what but she's not stopped her little golden smile all Disney-Day! ALSO I just found out I'm going to Disney FOR CHSITMAS EVE! Thought I would share my Disney excitement with you

Have you thought about a ramp going into the back of the car? When i was living in my parents house, its what we had. it allowed me to unload and reload the chair because it was a automatic chair, so i could power it from my phone as well. So I would get it up the ramp, put it in safely, and then reload the ramp... I hope this makes sense! Ha! :) Congrats on the chair. Really happy for you

Hello :) fan of your videos all the way from Australia! I was wondering if you'd had a look the other items that bold lead designs create (the people you're getting your wheelchair leash connection from). They have some fantastic mobility assist harnesses including for counterbalance. I know that this is a task that beautiful Harlow does for you and they are very comfortable for the pup including during long down stays :) wishing the best for you all!

The animals at Disney are WAY better than the Geese in Boise. They go lumbering across the road in flocks an they know you won't run them over.

That is so nice and ya they will be more adventures to go in wheelchairs and I am also telling everybody out there as well if you are in a wheelchair or not they will be more adventures to do and I have torests and exam and OSD but that doesn’t stop me from having fun or going swimming or going to school or making friends and when people bully me and tell me to stop pulling faces and stop making noises I say I can’t because it is not my fault and that I have Torets and I have a BFF who I have known since I was three and she knows everything and we stick up for each other and. When people bully me cause of it she says stop bullying her it is not her fault so don’t let anybody bully you no matter how you look ir how different you are you are a human being and nobody can stop you from having fun or boss you around♥️👍🏻

When you’re pushing your chair, make sure to extend your arms down at the end of a push and then reach back and start another push. It’ll save your shoulders a lot in the long run.
