The house I grew up in in Indianapolis Indiana was built in 1912. Looks like 2 drivers per car - is that right?

Just think that if someone had questioned that 500 miles would take almost 7 hours to complete and they had decided that just 100 laps would be enough... it would be called the Indy 250!

They knew how long it would take. The reason for choosing 500 miles was that they figured that was the maximum amount of time they could run and still get everyone in & out of the track during daylight hours.

About the 7:00 minute mark I swear I was hearing thunder. I wonder if when this film was redone in 1952 there was a storm rolling through or if its something else entirely.
