I would definitely PPF over the top of the hood. Turning it into gloss black is okay. It will be a nice contrast to the beautiful white paint. The huge size of the hood will show badly paint chips if not covered with PPF. Enjoy your Dark Horse!!! Cheers‼️👍👊💪🇺🇸

Much appreciated bud. The hood turned out amazing and the overall presentation is bad a@# to say the least. Having said that, I completely PPF is an absolute must. I'll have an update posted soon.. Have a great weekend. Cheers 🇺🇸

@@MyCalculatedRandomness : I have PPF so many cars since 2000, I had a Corvette done and a Porsche that year and have been doing it ever since. Done trucks and motorcycles too!!! Once while commuting to work in the hideous traffic of Washington DC I was driving my Corvette and a Toyota Corolla in front of me had the exhaust come completely off shamming into the front of my Vette! I pulled over expecting to see some serious damage. The PPF protected the bumper. A wax job and removal of the scarred PPF & new PPF applied & everything back to normal. What I learned is that PPF warranties up to a rock 1” x 1” hitting your car up to 140mph and no damage to your vehicle. The muffler exhaust that hit my Corvette; I was driving 68 mph. The initial appearance was awful but to my surprise once the PPF was removed the car only needed some polish & buffing and you could not see any damage!!!! That sold me on PPF especially driving on the highway and getting sprayed by debris and gravel by tractor trailer trucks and zero issues except on the windshield!!! It is worth every penny especially the new film that is self-healing from scratches!!! Done it on over 20 cars/trucks!!! When it gets old like after 10 years just have it redone and back to new appearance!!! Plus if your car is involved in an accident you need to inform your insurance company to also get covered for the PPF.

Appreciate the insight and I completely agree, I've applied PPF to all my cars and have done so for many years. Sorry for you miss fortunes, sadly daily driving in DC is a bit crazy to say the least. As we both agree PPF is definitely worth the money, as replacing the PPF after an incident is much cheaper than having to pay for a new paint job. I can't count how many times the PPF has saved my cars throughout the years. Thank again, have a great weekend. Cheers...

Beautiful!! I've just ordered a race red dark horse here in Europe and I will do exactly the same mods! I'm a bit worried about the front splitter though, have you had any issue with driveways or speed bumps? I mean,is there a noticeable difference between before and after the splitter? Unfortunately the roads in Italy are an absolute disaster. Good job anyways, the car looks sick!

Thanks for reaching out and for the kind words. Many congrats on your purchase, very happy for you bud. You're going to love the Dark Horse! After owning two C8 Corvettes I can honestly say the Dark Horse is superior in many ways, which says a lot! In reference to your question, please keep in mind this is the non-track pack variation, which sits a little higher. That said, I've had absolutely no problems with scraping the front splitter on driveways or speed bumps. Nonetheless I would still be careful when doing so. Stay tuned for more Dark Horse content and please do keep me posted on your delivery date. Enjoy and be safe... Cheers

Forgive me for asking, are you referring the the front splitter and front springs as far as the ride hight? What do you mean by HP? I"m sure it's a simple response and its something that I'm missing Lol..

No problem at all and yes you are correct, the Dark Horse was sitting higher than expected and the dealership has since corrected the issue. It's currently sitting about 1 to 1.5 inches lower, back to the factory setting.
