Fireworks Tutorial IN LESS THAN FIVE MINUTES

Need fireworks for your holiday? Whether it's July 4th (Independence Day in the U.S.A), Diwali, Guy Fawkes Day, New Years, or any other time when you need some fireworks, here's a tutorial on how to get them quickly with Trapcode Particular. You could use these techniques for visual effects shots or for some holiday-themed motion graphics!
Michael spiced his up using Optical Glow from VFX Suite and a bit of Renoiser from Magic Bullet Suite, but you can do whatever you want to get just the right look for your project.

Fireworks 101 1. Open after effects and create a composition with a solid in it 2. Apply Particular to the solid 3. Make a few particles emitted on a grid and use inverted gravity + velocity to launch the fireworks upwards randomly 4. Add a second system emitting from the parent system to make the trail of the firework rocket 5. Create a third system of a particle explosion, and set the system to emit from the parent (first system) and the emit behaviour to emit at parent end of life 6. Create a system emitting from the third system. This system is used to create the trail for the firework explosion

I added it to a adjustment layer and I'm getting an error message could that be why. I never knew it had to be on a solid layer.
Hi, very awesome! I'm new to particular. I have try to do the tutorial of Maxon and they not seem up to date with the most recent particular. Any ideas where I could start? I'm a mid user of After Effects. Thanks!

We are currently working on a new tutorial series for the latest version of Trapcode Particular. In the meantime, you could watch our current Getting Started Series and then the what's new videos for each subsequent version to get an idea of the changes.

This was made in Trapcode 2023.3.1, the changes and updates that have come out since them will not have changed the workflow for this tutorial except that you might change your color gradient interpolation now to have more vibrant colors.
