I'm not sure. I think 17. That is one thing I failed to point out that the machine never jammed running oak thru an 8 way. Wow!

Wonder why the Saw bulls down the engine so hard. Wouldn't think it would take a ton of hp to do that. I never here the motor pull hard on my dyna. Your 8 way doesn't even phase your motor, I would think the Saw motor would take less to run. It really eats the would though. Nice machine

It is an adjustment. For whatever reason I don't hear this when I'm running the machine like I do watching on vid. All I need to do is dial back the saw pressure and that prob would be fit

What would it take to turn a shipping container into a dry kiln? I can just imagine a row of 10 containers producing wood gasification furnace wood in IBC baskets at $800/cord!

To be fair, any time you can use large straight logs to maximize the throughput of your equipment, you will get great results regardless of the brand. This is where a 6 or 8 way is faster at processing in one push, than a box blade taking multiple strokes. 😊

How many people wiuld you need to stack wood and how many dump trailers would you need to haul wood away if all you did was run the Japa 405? Say 3 cords an hour, you'd need a lot of people to stack that much wood an hour and not wrar them out!

  • @ohiowoodburner

I don't think three cords an hour is realistic. These logs were hand picked by me and the table was primed for a fast run. This rarely is the case with a processor.

The best part of this design is simplicity. Someone would have to stand there so not much gain in efficiency. Also the logs in these demonstrations are perfect size and shape not going to be that easy all the time. The main thing is the cycle time how long it takes the splitter forward and back and is another round waiting to fall. This machine looks pretty good. I wish videos had more detail about hydraulic system

ha. I made one mistake trying to remove a conversation I had with the camera operator. This was his first time and I had to speak to him in the middle. When I took that portion out I snipped the last cut of a log from the vid so there is one log missing from this vid. otherwise it is all unedited.
