I’m an intermediate surfer and your videos are so relatable. I appreciate your efforts and just subscribed! Ive been riding a 6’8” Lost Smooth Operator and, like you, the mid length helped my flow tremendously. I’ve been eying a glazer for a bit now and you’ve all but convinced me this is the board I want for the bigger, more high performance days. Much aloha from SoCal!

Thank you for the support! I’m also working on the Dominator2 review, just trying to get a good 3-5 ft day to see how it works. So far it’s been working great in smaller waves.

Thank you! I’ll try to get a puddle jumper and compare that to twice baked😁 but imo, the modern high performance shortboards, work as good as the grovelers in weak mushy waves. I’m working on Dominator2 review which should come out by next Wednesday 🤙🏼 thanks for the support!

Hi Alex, I think it all depends on your skill level. I personally can only duck dive any board under 40liters. If they were with the same volume, then the easiest for duck diving would be Seaside and the hardest: Glazer. In terms of paddling speed: the fast board would be the Seaside and Beyond and the slowest: Glazer. Hope this helps!

i really enjoy your videos! I was able to pick up a 6'3" Go fish on Market place which are quite rare to find second hand over here and i love it. I'm on the south coast of England and have ridden it in knee to shoulder high and it zooms along. I'm just getting used to positioning to catch the waves as I'm used to getting in early on a soft top log. All the other models look really fun too though :D

@@vincerabbit hey man, I’m 5,6 and weigh 56kg. (Im 15), ive got some back problems so struggle to paddle seomtimes and have found a 6,1 go fish on facebook for a very good price. I like the idea of more volume and i will grow (hopefully lol) so want to future proof myself. How tall are you and how does it ride? Ideally id want a 5,7-5,11 but there’s none around. Do you think it will be abit too much board?

@@lbcmostwantedl6505 yeah I would go for the 6'1" , as maybe the extra length would help your paddling. I'm 6' and find it the perfect size as my waves aren't super powerful, but it's still so light and I feel like I can move it about

@@vincerabbit I’m very tempted. Im also on the south coast U.K. and the go fish with fins is £375 in v good condition. Im just worried it will be too big or i wont be able to manoeuvre it as its 7 inches taller than me 😬

Happy holidays! Great overview review! I never got along with the Seaside - i think it is too wide and the rails are too full. I tried a few sizes with no luck. The board always excited me and it paddled well, but it never delivered. The 6' 8" SS & B has been outstanding, it is fairly versatile with performance and can handle a range of waves. However, you look at the SS&B and it dings/dents, which is a bummer. Owing to my Seaside experience, I almost waived off small fishy boards.That changed, as I have Album Plasmic that has been amazing, fairly versatile, way way more fun than the Seaside.

Happy holidays, Jamie! Yes, I agree on the dings issues for S&B. They pop up here and there faster if it gets stressed against the sand. I've been more careful lately with the dismounts and trying to avoid dumping it at shore break. I think it's still worth it LOL. Just keep the suncure handy :) It sounds like you may have oversized the Seaside. I feel like it should be ridden 1-2L more than a regular shortboard. If it goes above, the board turns into a boat. I would love to get my hands on the Album. The boards look sick. The tail on the Plasmic looks sexy. I'm going to go into mid length world soon.. get CI Mid/Album Twinsman to start with. Cheers!

@@SkipperSurfReview yeah I’m in the midst of ordering a twinsman now! I think it is the board I have been subconsciously searching for! Mine is going to be 5'11 - more a DD than a mid length. I think you mean the Album Townsend. I have been also surfing single-fin 6' 10" Christenson Huntsman which has been a lot of fun. It doesn't have the performance of the SS&B, but I like the single fin and I actually grab it more than the SS&B. It not as fast, but it has a cool flow to it that can get into barrels. I like how it trims high in the wave, and then you start pumping is just feels natural. I think you will love the CI Mid based on how you surf in your videos. As I have learned, most surfboards are blast when you are out in the ocean having fun. Cheers!

Hey mate, great content youve got a subscriber. I am thinking on getting a seaside, i am the same weight as you all suit up, but not as good as a surfer as you, would getting a 5'8" instead of a 5'7" compensate for that lack of skill or should I just go for the 5'7"? And i mostly ride 1 to 5 foot weaker waves.

Hey mate! To be honest, if I had to go back, I would likely go with the 5’6”. The board may start feeling more like a boat. The Seaside is meant to be surfed shorter in order to take full advantage of the shape. Here is a video from 2 years ago. May be you are surfing the same now and wont need to go bigger.. my surfing got better since then. I’ve been mostly cleaning up my flow and try to not rush😂 kzread.info/dash/bejne/ioKOsJlyg72vgqw.html If you’re looking for higher wave count and also focus more on turns, then I would suggest getting the mid-length version the Seaside and Beyond 6’8” 🤙🏼 It slightly has more volume, but it will feel more like a Seaside with more advantage of getting into the waves earlier. I too find the Seaside corky when the swell gets bigger/faster (overhead). It becomes hard to get it on rail then. I wonder why the Seaside and Beyond, being way more volume, seems to handle bigger waves and get on rail, easier than the 35 litre Seaside? Is it due to the LFT being heavier, you think? Hey Craig! I think it's because of LFT. It's got more natural flex. You also get earlier into the waves earlier due to length. LFT is slightly lighter than Helium. The Seaside doesn't perform well in bigger surf, I feel like it's losing traction especially on steeper sections. Are you planning on replacing the Seaside? :)

Just in bigger stuff, it skips out, like you said. I will certainly keep it, but need to find a board to sit above it in steep punchy ground swells. Maybe the Glazer. :)

Just the takeaway, if you are looking for smooth surfing to draw round turns with a lot of confidence then Glazer is gonna be good. For more aggressive surfing, quick transitions between turns and more work -> Flat Earth :) Cheers!

So the takeaway is that if you are looking for smoother transitions between turns, drawing out longer round turns with confidence then the Glazer will get the job done. For more aggressive/radical surfing, quick transitions with more work LOL -> Flat Earth.

Hey Casey! To be honest, not at all. It was fun surfing on it when the conditions were right like 3-5 ft clean/semi clean with a little texture but no bumps and it had more open face. I found it really challenging making steep drops and if it had a bit more rocker, it would've worked much better. If you are looking for something similar in that department, I'd suggest getting straight the Dominator 2. It covers more conditions, grovel way better than Seaside and can go really aggressive on turns in steeper sections. Hope this helps!

@@caseymccormack2000 Overall, it is but if we talk about bigger waves 3+ surf with steeper faces then IMO, the Glazer is a winner (holding better steep drops, turns smoother (no release off the tail due to tail shape and less work to get speed). So, it all depends on what you would like to do on the wave, if you want to get more performance and work on radical turns/feel release off the tail then the Dominator 2 can provide all of that.

I don't like "big/long" boards so I'm searching for a daily driver that can handle whatever surf is available when I hit the coast. Love your reviews and watching you progress as a surfer.

@@caseymccormack2000 Thank you, Casey! I think you will not regret at all if you get the 6'8" Seaside and Beyond. It doesn't feel like a regular mid but it will get you plenty of waves with a great performance to do nice turns or may be look into getting a custom one from Rob :) My buddy has just ordered one in PU.

Hey Dave! I've never tried the new volcanic firewire. But I personally think it's just a great marketing campaign to sell it. Basically it's just a shell with the eps core blank. It looks cool but in general, if you get a ding, it will absorb the water regardless. I also don't buy Firewire Boards anymore. I support local shapers and US shapers in general. If you are looking for longevity and best combo performance/flex -> check out Varial foam. This is my favorite construction! Hope this helps!

I don’t know if Varial foam are available here in the U.K, especially in Jersey Channel Islands U.K (the original Jersey) 🤣 Just quick fact. Jersey was the first place in Europe to have surf competitions, although it’s not world class for surf. In today’s standards. Take it easy and keep up the Stoke!

If we talk about midlength I would pick 6'8" Plasmic over Seaside and Beyond. If it's a short Plasmic and 6'8" Seaside and Beyond then I would go for the Seaside and Beyond.

not necessarily. I think the key is to go with more volume not really match Pro's dims.
