I was already a Prodigy fan but the first time I watched wipeout 2097 gameplay this was the track that was playing... it was insta buy when I received my paycheck at the end of the month! :) It's sort of chaotic and full of energy, it fits the game perfectly

THE quintessential Wipeout tune! Love it!

Y'know, that's what I miss. This playing in the background, with that deep voice going "Three...Two...One...Go." And "Contender are elimnate." Its a shame HD/Fury doesn't have more options than what it already does.

I like both versions too. This was the first version I heard, but the lyrical version is awesome too.

Wipeout 2097 + NeGcon controller + Prodigy - Firestarter = GAMING PERFECTION.

This was the first Prodigy track I ever heard, thanks to Wipeout XL, and it was by far my favorite BGM. A couple years later, I learned it had lyrics, and my love for it diminished sharply.

Dan Hare Talons Reach, Piranha, Time Trial and a 13sec perfect flying lap! All to the sound of this as loud as my tv would go. Loved that game.

wipeout xl on ps1, forget what it was called but the red and white speeder was my vehicle of choice and i never lost with it

I know it’s been a century since this comment was posted,but you’re talkin’ about a PirHana craft there,friend. Actually,I think it was the only pirhana craft in 2097/XL,and it’s a special unlockable! No wonder you never lost with it,that bad boy’s a beast on the track!

11 years too late, I know. But "Invaders Must Die" is also on the original and Omega Collection OST for Wipeout 2048.

Now whenever I'm fighting Firestarter mechs in Mechcommander I can think of this song.

Wipeout 2097, greatest game ever. for the purists i suppose, completely redefined game play on the PS, the feeling of aceing Valpareiso for the first time was unparalleled.

Fucking epic tune with Flinty or without him. Keith always causes a buzz at live shows though, this track wouldn't be the same without him!

Oh how i miss my playstation. it had wipeout 2097 , and i was always on the feisar team, now i realise how bad i was at it :P maybe i cud dominate the game now im older :) only one way to find out!

@ladulaser yeah had lowest shield level, but with the speed that it had it was easier to outmaneuver anything that gets thrown at me, thanks for giving me the name too!
